Thread: Zodiarc : An amalgamation of all primals? (spoilers)

I'd like to expand on this theory a bit, and let's see where we can take it before one of the resident loremongers pokes it full of holes.

1) If the statue is a coporeal form of Zodiark composed of bits and pieces of the six primals, then the purple Crystal at the end of the 2.0 Main Quest is not a second crystal, but a single mothercrystal that used to have the spirit of Hydaelyn in it, but has the spirit of Zodiark in it.

2) Ultima weapon contained the essences of three 'weaker' versions of Primals in the heart of Sabik. Is the unknown true purpose of the Heart of Sabik not just to try and destroy everything, but a place to combine the spirits of the six primals to manifest the power of Zodiark? If so, think of how much more destructive Ultima could have been if it was powered by six Extreme++ primals instead of three story mode primals. Hydaelyn barely made it through the fight with Ultima, she'd have no chance against the powered up version.

3) Omega weapon. Possibly a more powerful creation that could also house the Heart of Sabik with such power? If so, it might explain more why an Ascian may have dark crystalled the revolutionary Lalafell whose name I can't remember (Teledji?)

4) Would the Heart of Sabik even need one of the weapons as a housing if it contained all six primals? Ultima weapon certainly gained some physical characteristics of Garuda, Titan, and Ifrit while it still held their powers. With all six, maybe the heart could sprout all the pieces it needs to be Zodiark all by itself.

5) If Zodiark is the combination of the primals, is Hydaelyn the combination of the Twelve? That would take us back to the duality thing that keeps coming up - Hydaelyn and Zodiark, primals and the Twelve, Scions and Ascians (it does seem like Elidibus thinks that the echo could grant us powers like the Ascians hold if we knew how to use it).

Someone put the brakes on this before I get too invested in this theory, please!

I'd have to look at the cutscene again but the statue appears to be based on FFIX's final boss Necron.

Zodiarc may be a renaming of the entity done in order to avoid conflict with Games Workshop over the name.

Invest away, Tattered. Just don't get too disappointed if the truth doesn't follow. I've got plenty of crazy theories of my own. This is an interesting theory and not without its merits. The Zodiark "statue" does look strikingly similar to Necron, more so than it does to the FFXII version of Zodiark. I do like the theory that The Primals are aspects of Zodiark while The 12 are aspects of Hydaelyn. Too much was made of The Heart of Sabik for it to disappear from the plot, imho. Watch Prince Teledji have recovered it so that he could unite it with the now-dormant Omega Weapon. While the Ascians aren't all powerful and they certainly don't seem to be everywhere, it very nearly seems that they are all-knowing.

On a tangentially related note, I was disappointed to discover that "Altima" seems to be merely a rank and file Ascian on their council of 12. No foreshadowed connection to The High Seraph. I'm guessing that there's so much "Ultima" in the story already, that to try and shoehorn in that particular bit of Ivalice lore would have been pushing things a bit. I'm still hopeful that 3.0 or sooner will bring us Ivalice Primals. SMN finale all but promised us Belias, after all.
