    1.18 new Untradable items

I think it is good to have some item as untradable, however, I found that all of the new gear now tend to be like this. Especially all the good ones. Come on! you gonna make gil worthless or what? and you not want to give lucky players chance to sell their new gear for high price? My LS mate just randomly get one R50 new gear who couldn't make use of from a random PT. The random PT didn't have distribution rule, and now he can't even sell it, so it gonna stuck in his retainer until one day he want to play mage..

Really, I think new gear should always come in mix between untradable and tradable. none of them should have tier above one another too. But now, this game have been favor only untradable gear since 1.17.

How did you get all R50 classes with such incompetent LSmates??? I'm SURE there were mages in the group he could have easily given it to through the loot tab... I'm amazed someone who wasn't aware of this could even defeat a boss in the R50 raid.

I think a good idea for them to solve issues like this is do what they have been. Make an item hard to obtain but only make it so that item is a part they need to make a whole piece of gear which is where the crafters come in at. I was hoping it was gonna be something more like that but rare/ex gear is nice to have once in awhile so you dont have to run around looking for someone to make your stuff.

Perhaps your friend would like to adopt a general rule I use whether in a random PT or not. If I get an item I don't want or can't use, I give it away to someone who would find it useful, no strings attached.

I didn't think that I should explain the reason to you guys at first, because the topic is all about "why all untrade-able gears only".
But now, since many of you care more about why he didn't give a mage. I will explain.,
Basically, everybody wipped during the run, there is still time remain but all decided to quit the dungeon. While my friend, Serge Elru run back to get chest before he exited the dungeon. that is why the gear went to him alone.

Back to the topic, I don't mind good gear become untrade-able, but I think SE should balance it out. Some items as trade-able and some items as untrade-able.
From what I see they are doing now, I feel like all gonna be untrade-able....

    I'm 100% pro-"work for your gear".

U/U gear reflects exactly that.... Work.

With MMO's these days no one wants to put in the effort, they just buy gil and then buy all the best gear but the player him/herself sucks beyond belief. You should have to EARN the right to sport awesome gear, and be given due credibility for doing so. It's what separates the people who actually play the game from the people who just want to look important without working for it.

Keep up the good work SE! Make everything that's worthwhile U/U please!

My suspicion about the unique / untrade-able nature of the recent gear: these are temporary solutions until the crafting / gathering changes come out.

    Consider--
If SE allows this dropped gear to be trade-able, it will serious hamper later attempts at restarting the crafting-based economy (which I believe starts with 1.19). However, SE did need to give out reasonable rewards from completing the new content.

I keep getting fears that SE has abandoned the notion of crafting/gathering in this game, but they keep attempting to reassure that isn't the case. Time will tell...
