Voice Acting

I am placing this here on the hopes that someone will read it and provide me some answers. I normally play on the Hyperion Server. Since the start of 2.0 I have never been able to hear the voice acting on any of my characters. With nothing better to do I created a new character. Since Hyperion was closed to Character Creation and I wanted to try a non-Legacy server I placed the new one on Brynhildr. Lo and Behold I had voice acting. Does anyone have an idea as to why I can get on 1 server but not another. Clarification would be appreciated. Thanks

We are silent protagonists. While we never hear what our voices are, outside of battle and some emotes, the world reacts to us like we are speaking normally. Similar to other famous silent protagonists like Link and the MC of every Persona game it allows us to immerse ourselves within our character and use our imagination to fill in the blanks.

The bigger issue here is why is so very little VO for the other main NPC's. I would even take only Japanese VO's as they usually have better voice casting and performances but no we get the handful of key scenes with voices and it just feels awkward after going through a majority of the game without hearing them. It's sad that when I hear the NPC's the get the "Oh that's how they sound like" feeling especially in this day and age.

As to your situation idk because I have a character on Coeurl (main) and and alt on Diabolos and I hear them both perfectly.

Do you mean the NPCs during certain cutscenes? Sometimes (not often) I've had bugs where I havent heard certain sounds or music. One of the 2.2 story cutscenes was weird to me because there was no voice acting, and no sound coming from Merwylb's gun when shot, but when I rewatched it later I could hear it just fine. No sure if it's the same thing, and I doubt it's specific to hyperion. Is it possible you had certain settings turned off that were defaulted to on when you made a new character?

There are certain CSs from the Main Scenario where Voice Actors are used for the NPCs. It is these voice overs that I am talking about. I get them on 1 world but not on another. As for my settings, they are the same for both worlds (servers).

Maybe send in some kind of bug report then, you should be able to hear them but aren't. I have had it happen to me but rarely, definitely not all the time on one character

Maybe you have turned an option off, or.. maybe you muted the sound for that specific type of audio in the options. best take a look once you log in.

I have a felling it has to do with your sound set-up. I had this problem, i was because I had my speakers set-up as 5.1 but didn't have a center channel. when I
switched to headphones I could hear everything.

I'm shocked, that all the effort they go to to make boss fights epic.... why don't the bosses actually have voices? why do we have to see text in the middle of the screen? seems like a big oversight to me... games from early 2000 have done it.
