I guess that's true. Yesterday, I watched a movie of an indian guy on youtube promoting his crafting/battle/gathering bots.
I have to admit: it's very tempting. An absolutely easy way to make tons of money, and apparently there's no risk attached whatsoever ^.-/

Bots were a real problem in XI, screwed the economy good. We don't have much of one now, I'd kinda wait until 1.19 when Chocobos come out along with airships. With more gil sinks, people will start to notice how and where they're spending things.
We also have an infinite resource of items, and I've been told it's pointless to put a for sure price on anything right now as it's useless.

It's distressing, annoying, and at times I envy them. Sometimes I wish I had the guts to risk my account just so I could have a bot making velveteen cloth for me while I ate chips.

I would think it's possible to eat chips and synth at the same time lol. Prolly be better to say exercise or something as a better example or even playing another game XD. On a serious note though while botters do suck, at the same time with the state of the game it isn't in SE's best interest to spend resources getting rid of something that in a sense has no effect over their ideals. I would dare say they have kept in mind the name and complaints made and plan a massive ban when the game goes live or even attempt to have fail-safes that can detect a botter.

The only time we should begin to worry about botting is once we start paying monthly for the game and see the same bots around. You have to admit though what would be more awesome then having a bot from day one lose his account and all his info once the monthly subscriptions kick in, instead of them having the time to fine tune their bots or even fear about getting banned, they mysteriously get hit with a ban. All their progress and stockpiles gone cause they had to cheat to get to where they are lol.
