The reality of being a member of LB!
I have been a member of Limit Break for 6 months now (you can look back through this very thread to see when I joined if you like).
When I started out here in FFXIV: ARR I was very new to MMO’s so I was looking for a friendly and sociable FC to join that could meet with the needs of my real life as well. I did what many players do I looked around the forums and tried to pick one that would be the right fit for me Limit Break was the one at the top of my list…
Meissa was kind enough to talk with me in game before I joined when I asked and put my mind at ease that Limit Break might be the right place for me. It didn’t take long for me to learn that Limit Break really is a sociable place, I was greeted with welcomes and jokes from everyone that was on then and eventually by the rest of its members and this still happens even now, the FC chat is almost always filled with chat or people willing to have a chat or a laugh sometimes even wild discussions about what we’d like to see in future. A particularly memorable one was the hope that we’d get a flying Fat Chocobo that was tethered to some Baby Chocobos like balloons all trying to lift him.
Limit Breaks friendliness goes beyond the chat though, I have found that regardless of rank or level it’s members are willing to help you out when you’re in need, not just by providing tips or guides on things but actively jumping in running dungeons or guiding you to locations. Yes there are times when they can’t do this so I’ve had to fend for myself but I have NEVER once felt abandoned by them.
When it comes to running dungeons some of my very best experiences in the entire game have been when I’ve ran them with friends from the FC.
I found out all this long long before I hit level 50, you see in Limit Break your level doesn’t really matter it’s members (and that includes the veterans) will help you regardless if they can.
Some of the most helpful people in Limit Break are its leaders, they have put a lot of time into helping me reach level 50, either by clearing content with me (for what must be the millionth time for them) or providing me with advice on how best to do things (in particular just after I finished the first part of the main story and a flood of stuff became available or on top of my priority list). They have never asked anything more from me than occasionally an invite to help clear something.
Yes there have been bad times, I have been there when Limit Breaks staff have had to deal with acts of racism, sexism and harassment. No it wasn’t nice to see these things happen but the staff dealt with each incident as fast and as best as they could.
To any of you who are reading this looking for an FC to join Limit Break is a lot of fun with chatty helpful members that like to have a laugh and do stuff together, if that sounds like what you’re looking for then join us.
Come see for yourself.
