    DoH/DoL Content/Quality of Life Suggestions

I was thinking about how being a crafter/gatherer feels less like a class and more like a grind, so I came up with a few ideas that might help with that. Feel free to add your own!

    1. Inscriptions. Since crafted gear tends to pale in comparison to crafted gear, what would be cool is if people could request crafters to inscribe something on their gear, like a word or phrase, which would appear on the item where the crafter's name usually would. It would add a bit of personalization to each player's gear, and give crafters one more thing to do.

    2. DoH/DoL Barding. Given that there is BLM/WHM/DRG/Tank barding, I think it's only fair that there be a Disciple of the Hand barding and a Disciple of the Land barding. Even better if there were a barding for each class. After all, gatherers have to bring back all those materials they gathered somehow, and crafters have deliveries to make.

    3. Unique/Untradable Vanity Items. Give crafters some recipes for armor or weapons that are unique in appearance and that are bound to their character after crafting. Same thing for gatherers, give them certain armor/weapons that might pop at a node. Ideally these would be available for all classes, and could be melded onto anything. Alternatively, just use the 1.0 dated armor, since it's already in the game.

    4. Delivery System. Functions like a levequest. An NPC gives the player materials that need to be taken from point A to point B, somewhere in Eorzea, however they have to be delivered on foot, or by chocobo. No teleporting, no shortcuts. Some points may be in the same zone, some may be in a completely different zone that's nowhere close. Maybe it gives allied marks as a reward, with bonuses based on distance traveled. But along with giving crafters and gatherers more content, it helps players get back out there and see Eorzea, rather than just heading to the nearest aetheryte for convenience.

    5. Realm Building. I think most players will agree that it's been really cool watching Revenant's Toll going from a ratty little outpost to the fortress it's turning into. Unfortunately, I can't help but feel that there was a sadly missed opportunity by not letting gatherers and crafters contribute in the construction effort. So what I'd propose is introduce a system where there are a number of different outposts across the world, and if players turn in enough materials/gil, the devs have to upgrade that point in the next update. Possible points: The Silver/Golden Bazaar, Black Brush Station (lets get some working trains going, yeah?), Red Rooster Stead, Buscarron's Druthers, Steel Vigil, etc etc. These points shouldn't be easy to upgrade, and the system should be designed so that players will have to coordinate among themselves which they want to focus on.

You can edit your first post to bypass the character limit, so you can put all the info in you single post.
