Am I screwed with Elite Marks (hunt)

It sounds like the elite marks will have some kind of criteria for unlocking their spawn.

For example, they will only spawn if you defeat 1000 of a certain type of monster in the area. (that's a hypothetical example)

The fact is that when servers go up tuesday, that mark will be killed in a matter of minutes on each servers. What will happen then???? I'm able to log on 2-3 hours a day, will I ever be able to participate in the elite hunt??? If there is a respawn timer for elite marks, it will be killed in a matter of second too when it respawn so if I am in a dungeon / offline /afk, what will happen??

My worry is : I am screwed with these elite hunts????

This problem would be lessened if the mark actually plays like a dungeon boss with interesting mechanics rather than just a tank & spank Fate boss. I'm hoping that taking one down will require an organized group of players with a gameplan rather than a crazy zergfest by everyone in the area

Mostly it sounds like it will just be a FATE that spawns only during certain conditions and will be swarmed by a few hundred people like Odin & Behemoth. Zones will crash, please look forward to it.

Elite marks can appear in any area, with some of them appearing only when certain conditions are met. Add to that the fact that they won't always appear in the exact same spot. You'll also come across hunter-scholars in each area, who are more than willing to share with you what they know of the elite marks you're after.
They may even offer a hint on how to track down your prey, so be sure to keep an eye out.
There are no weekly restrictions on how many seals you can acquire, so those of you feeling especially heroic are more than welcome to venture out and defeat as many marks as you can find.

Reading these other parts and highlighting in bold what I took from it, It looks like as long as the conditions are met, they will respawn. I highly doubt these hunts will only appear once a week. If there is a particular mark you want then research it, figure out where it will spawn and when, then go and hunt your mark. Its why its called a "Hunt". I'm also hoping nothing appears on the map when they are up otherwise its just a FATE.

Its my opinion (and hope i guess) that it may be possible to spawn the same Elite Mark in several zones, independent of whether someone else managed to spawn it. As an example, if i'm hunting an Elite Mark through La Noscea, and i get it to spawn, that would not preclude someone hunting it in Black Shroud and getting it to pop there.

Thats my hope anyways, so it wouldn't end up like WoW Rares, as i have some rather painful memories of spending 2 years getting Loque'nahak for my Hunter there. (He had 7 spawn locations around the zone, each one would be camped by a different player. Eventually, he spawned and you either got lucky and tamed it, or idiots showed up to kill him out of jealousy for having been on the wrong spawn zone.)
if the Hunt Marks end up always spawning in the same zone but a different location, the Hunt would end up just being a group of players running around patrolling through the various spawn zones or having members of a FC/LS camp everywhere at the same time.

The elite mark won't spawn once a week. You just get the quest to kill it once a week. It will spawn over and over again when the conditions are right. It would be silly to think it was a 1 time a week thing and bam the monster won't be back at all.

Pretty much. Otherwise the whole thing would devolve into a "Who can log in after the reset fastest" game. This way, it doesn't matter what your schedule is, if you have a bit of time in the week to do it, you should be able to find it.

One thing they really haven't specified is if the elite mark will spawn more than once a week, and if so, how often it will spawn.

This isn't that hard to understand. If you read the live letter, it basically says that elite marks will pop up all over. There is no set spawn and they can be located to a general area or pop condition via scholar NPCs which give information on them. It also says there is no weekly limit to you killing them so from that you can gather they will spawn regularly through the days and week in different locations and kill them multiple times for marks. You just won't get the bonus for first time, and only the "regular" mark drops.
