I do indeed remember 1.0. You likely play as a Bard, which was a 1.22 introduction. You've likely done Guildleves, which was a 1.0 introduction. You likely started off in a city-state, which was a 1.0 introduction. You likely use your retainer, which was a 1.0 introduction, you likely viewed cutscenes, which were introduced in 1.0 as a way of telling this game's storyline. You likely....you get the picture.
I agree on the FATE thing, but saying "remember 1.0" as a way to say they stick behind something faulty and not realizing most of ARR is using 1.x systems and many locations still and is supposedly "so popular"...yeah![]()
Oh, I just couldn't resist making a joke about 1.0but what I'm basically saying is that SE can be very stubborn about pushing something that is.... well, I don't wanna say "bad", but for the sake of the argument let's call it "clunky". Now, in case of 1.0 > ARR it worked marvelously, of course. In regards how ARR FATE system works compared to similar game mechanics in other MMOs, however.... Not so much, and there's lots of room for improvement so that our very own FATE thing becomes a more enjoyable experience.
That doesn't negate the fact that it's still a FATE. The same things many complain about whenever a new content including those is introduced. It's like they're saying "Oh, we know you guys aren't particularly fond of FATE, but here, have some more. YOU MUST LEARN TO LOVE IT!"

Except that as she pointed out, they're trying to fix the "clunky" FATE mechanics. These new Elite Mark NMs are just like Boss FATEs, without the blue circle, that pop in random locations in the zone, and don't have a timer. And they probably won't have the "chance of a FATE occurring will increase the more time passes since its last occurrence" part, so the time between these spawns could be anywhere from regular enemy respawn to Behemoth/Odin respawn or even longer. People complain about FATEs all the time, but the moment they introduce something that's a FATE without calling it a FATE all the haters are like "See, now this is how they should do things!"That doesn't negate the fact that it's still a FATE. The same things many complain about whenever a new content including those is introduced. It's like they're saying "Oh, we know you guys aren't particularly fond of FATE, but here, have some more. Then we can argue every random spawn location can be borderline treated as a FATE? Or are you referring to something else? Mark on a map or no mark, each mob spawn, no matter how hard it is to defeat, unless it's spawned from a leve/treasure map, is zergable, like a FATE. Think we're talking about 2 different things here. The insane skill spam just in order to get a rank in a FATE is what seems to bother people the most. Button mash VS challenge. Hopefully, Hunts will be dealt with in a different manner.
