Fishing bug

Whenever I try to fish, most of hte time after between 2-10 seconds i randomly put my rod away, sometimes quit the fishing cast/ session entirely. I have the correct bait equipped, sometimes the cast is completed and I catch a fish, most of the time this is not the case however. I am not moving, it happens regardless of it I am pressing any keys or not.

I used to play on ps3, however recently started playing again and on PC. I have only noticed it now, there were no problems on ps3. Everything else works fine. I have tried various locations and nothing seems to make much of a difference other than if I use my keyboard rather than my mouse numbers it tends to let me fish more often, however still the problem remains, just not as frequently.

Does anyone have any information or possibly even the same problem?

I'm on the PS4, this happens to me sometimes but I think that its just because I bumped the stick that moves you around. Any movement of the character other than the fishing will put away the rod I noticed, don't need to hit the "quit" tab, just move to stop fishing. I don't know how to move the character on the PC, but if its through the mouse or any type of controller, it could be slowly creeping on you.
