Tanks for the tips, i'll test thissnip

Once hate is established, I'm usually alternating between Butcher's Block for hate and Storm's Path/Storm's Eye (situationally) for the debuffs. This leads to me using Butcher's Block every 6-9 CDs and after Butcher's Block goes off a minor CD is used automatically. This keeps them rotating throughout the fight automatically without me having to constantly worry about what their recast is when I'm oftentimes more focused on other mechanics.
Vengeance, Thrill of Battle and Convalescence though, I always micro-manage.
Like I said, this probably isn't the absolute optimal way to handle your CDs but on PS4 it has saved me a bunch of space on my hotbars and made sure that I'm using all my CDs that are available.
You need Provoke, you'll appreciate Flash, and featherfoot is nice. I personally use those then Convalescence and Internal release.
Sorry can't help too much here. I play PC and got everything separated.2) I have problems keep trak of all defence cooldowns. I play from PS4 so i don't have that much free slots in my hotbars and i'm not able to discern when to best use each cooldown. That's the way i decided to use. I made a macro with all defence cooldowns with no wait so each time i press it it use the first DCD ready. I know that i should manage those in...
Depends on the pull. Going to take a lot of damage like first room ST? Pop vengeance then just spam overpower and flash. That should be plenty if your healer doesn't suck. If your healer sucks pop blood bath and berserk then back to overpower spamming (probably use this first pull after first boss in brayflox to be safe).3) Next thing is... how i manage giant pulls? what CD should i pop in wich order, what skills i should use to hold aggro? I tried once with way too low HP since i miss every big equip and no plan so I died miserably. That was traumatizing, i was paniking popping cooldowns and spamming OP not being able to build wrath. So I realized that i need a plan and to know what i should do during big pulls so i'm here to ask that as well
Are you talking about when dps is the highest priority? The most burst you can do is berserk, internal release, then the butcher's block combo (with defiance off or using unchained) while weaving in brutal swing whenever its up and using inner beast next when its available. If dps is still important but not as bursty then you do the storm's eye combo, internal release, berserk, fracture, butcher block combo, storm's eye combo (repeat and weave in brutal swing and inner beast)... Take off defiance if you don't need it (its best damage) otherwise use unchained right before you pop berserk or right after.
If you are OT and the party is struggling just storm's path combo while keeping 1 of your defensive cooldowns up(bloodbath, vengeance, convalescence, featherfoot, thrill of battle). Use inner beast immediately when its ready. If party is doing fine then go with your standard damage rotation (described above). I'm assuming you aren't fighting to hold aggro right now - storm's path combo without a couple butcher block combos puts you close to or actually losing aggro when everyone starts from square one.
Holding hate is priority. After you feel comfortable with that then focus on keeping storm's path up and using it as much as you can for the life regen - this is like coil strategy or bad geared/slow healers parties. You don't need to worry about it in say expert roulette with i75+ gear.
I start pulls off with infuriate -> steel cyclone -> Overpower iF we're gonna aoe trash. If I'm about to MT King Behemoth in CT I start with Infuriate -> Inner Beast -> Butcher's block combo. No one will take hate off if you just repeat butcher's block combo. If you want to take hate from the MT paladin without using provoke then pop infuriate and internal release early in the fight and do butcher's block combo.7) And last thing is wrath (infuriate) management. It's better to use infuriate-unchained before pulls then go the usual way? Or should i use steel cyclone if more mobs? When i recharge infuriate in between fight, how should i use it? I'm using inner beast as soon as i have it usually and i'm in between a combo (maim one usually) so i feel that using it for one more inner beast in that moment is a waste. I feel it's a waste (unless needed for big damage incoming) even use it after IB wears off since for that time i've alredy built it a bit of wrath anyway. I'm guessing then that best way to use it is right after IB to activate a Unchained if ready or steel cyclone. I guessed right or i'm missing something?

Sorry, I'm unable to get a screenshot up (just... life..)
But, I can write it out for you. This is from memory, though... so I'm not sure if I've got everything right, but it's definitely enough to show you the gist of what I'm trying to describe in having the R2 side of Set 1 and Set 2 the exact same:
Set 1 - When holding L2
Up - Steel Cyclone
Left - Unchained
Right - Inner Beast
Down - Overpower
Triangle - Provoke
Square - Infuriate
Circle - Beserk
X - Tomahawk
Set 1 - When holding R2
Up - Storm's Eye
Left - Mercy Stroke
Right - Storm's Path
Down - Brutal Swing
Triangle - Butcher's Block
Square - Maim
Circle - Skull Sunder
X - Heavy Swing
Set 2 - When holding L2
Up - Thrill of Battle
Left - Bloodbath
Right - Foresight
Down - Vengeance
Triangle - Defiance
Square - Convalescence
Circle - Holmgang
X - Fracture
Set 2 - When holding R2
Up - Storm's Eye
Left - Mercy Stroke
Right - Storm's Path
Down - Brutal Swing
Triangle - Butcher's Block
Square - Maim
Circle - Skull Sunder
X - Heavy Swing
When you press R1, it switches your whole set of skills.
So, I normally start on Set 1, and Tomahawk into a pack, maybe an Overpower or two, and then start my combos on the Hold-Down-R2 side of things.
Once into my combos, I can switch over to Set 2 and fire off a mitigation cool-down during the Global Cool Down (GCD) of the combos and continue the combos right there (no need to switch back to Set 1... might not have enough time to do so before the GCD is done and waiting on me for my next attack).
Here's an example of a combo button press sequence:
On Set 1
*Hold L2, Press X = Tomahawk
*Hold R2, Press X = Heavy Swing
*Press R1 to switch to Set 2..
On Set 2
*Hold L2, Press Down = Vengeance
*Hold R2, Press Circle = Skull Sunder
*Press R1 to switch back to Set 1.. (may need to press this twice if you have a 3rd set for other things...)
On Set 1
*Hold L2, Press Circle = Beserk
*Hold R2, Press Triangle = Butcher's Block
...
The GCD is long enough to easily swap sets and fire off a non-GCD ability and get back into your combo before the GCD is over so you don't waste any time at all.
Notice how I swapped between Set 1 and Set 2 mid-Butcher's-Block-combo to fire off different cool-downs.
Another thing... I like to position my abilities in order. Notice my Butcher's Block combo "works up" the game-pad (X -> Circle -> Triangle). And my other combo's "work up" the other side (X -> Square -> Right or Up)
I also have Tomahawk on L2-X because I have Heavy Swing on R2-X and that way they're kind of on the same button (X).
I still have to get my Monk/Pugilist into a few levels so I can add those cross-class skills as well.
When I do this, I'll probably get into the extra cross-bar: Holding L2 and then R2 so that you're holding both will bring up another set... as well as Holding R2 and then L2 to hold both. I might even put all the same skills on those two cross-bars (the Holding-L2-and-then-R2 set as well as the Holding-R2-and-then-L2 set) so that it doesn't matter if I hit L2 or R2 first... all I have to do is hold them both in either order to access the same skills on the extra cross-bar.
I'm sure there's lots more to do to help out a game-pad setup. If anyone has any suggestions or comments, please feel free to comment so we can all judge and learn for ourselves![]()
