Not trying to be a smart ass here, but have you considered purchasing a keyboard and mouse for your PS4? I got an inexpensive wireless keyboard/mouse combo from Walmart for $30. I could never be an effective tank playing on the gamepad, especially with how much communication you must do to coordinate your party in the more complicated content.

I have a keyboard but it's quite un confortable. You will never be a good warrior if you use macro'd CDs. (and don't know which ones are going off) We are completely based off using a lot of situational CDs with low recast times. If you are using a random defensive CD in a situation or a "big hit" you will fail.
Everything must be considered when using cooldowns. If you really want to be better, get a mouse keyboard, or use extended bars on PS3 my warrior buddy does that and he can fit everything.
Lets say for example a HUGE magic attack is about to hit you, and you hit your defensive macro and foresight goes off.... or conv, or bloodbath ect. There are certain abilities in which you HAVE to use Vengance.
Wasting Ven and not having it up for certain things is also bad warrior play. Not using veng as much as possible is also bad warrior play.
Warriors are not paladins, we are reactive/active CD and abilities. You can't just rotate through CDs and expect to be good.
Good points, MythToken. I agree that it’s easy for macros to remove the level of situational control that a warrior depends upon.
Just wanted to clarify this point a little bit. If taken out of context it can seem self-contradictory. But all you’re saying is that the Warrior needs to understand what situation they find themselves in. If the situation calls for some big hits, then a Warrior needs to save Veng specifically for the big hits. If the situation contains more evenly dished out damage, say… just a bunch of trash mobs or most Low-Level Duty Roulettes, then a Warrior needs to use Veng as much as possible to get everything they can out of their abilities.
Or there’s even combinations. If you know the big hits are far enough apart, then a good Warrior will use an extra Veng in between just because they can. Just make sure it’s ready again for when you need it![]()

I'm not popping a general cooldown instead of a "big hit CD" unless i'm out of "big hit CD" but why foresight that is still a damage reduction CD is bad? Don't tell me he don't affect magical defence... =/ Didn't realized it =/ tanks for the tips. This is getting more and more difficultYou will never be a good warrior if you use macro'd CDs. It's true tough that vengance is the One cooldown that i see a good meaning in micromanaging but i'm not yet able as player to keep trak of everything on the battlefield. I can manage hits like mountain baster that i can predict, but i'm not able to keep trak for example if healer is going to heal other members and need help. For now i can't have that wide battlefield view. This means that for now i can't be a great tank. I don't know if i'll be able to do that in the future and, if i'll get better at this, vengance is the first CD i take out from macro and start micromanaging
PS: i know which CD i used and when they are recharged since i put a "display" hotbar with all CD, defence and offence ones, to see their statuses
What about your way to use wrath? Can you share some intel about that?
Yes def Cold_Raven well said.
1.
I think you are on the right track, Veng is simply your best skill and therefore should probably be managed more closely. I would practice just maximizing Veng usage and macroing everything else and popping as you see fit.
Then when that gets easy, maybe use other things situationally. I also might have made it sound more complicated, I personally don't always know when the best CD to use is.
I generally try to keep Bloodbath, featherfoot, and that 10% crit one i cant remember on CD since they are low recast, and then i use Thrill of battle, Conv, Foresight, and VEng as more of ok lots of dmg about to be incoming save for those moments. Ideally always having at least 1 or 2 of them to oh shit pop and kind of keep them on a rolling rotation.
2. Wrath
I don't claim to know the best usage of wrath, there are several schools of thought centered around IB usage. Personally you want to always be building wrath stacks (unless you are just aoe spamming some stuff) and using IB whenever you can.
Obviously if you know a huge hit is coming and its easily timed and repetitive I would save IB for those moments.
This^1.

A well-timed IB can save you even without pulling holmgang out of the shelf. but thats assuming you know the fight.
My personal opinion on the matter is that if you dont know the fight, and boss is at about 60% dont use anything until boss drops to 50%. not all bosses change tactics at 50% but most do and you might need IB.
Otherwise, use IB extensively. building wrath is quite simple albeit time consuming most of the times.
