    Rogue/Ninja

    Hello, everyone.

First off im not sure if this question or thread has been started so i do apologize if it has been answered.

My question is, will rogue be a class i can play till 50? Or will i have to adv at lvl 30 to ninja. Too be honest i have no intentions of wanting to play ninja due to the ninjitsu hand sign business. I myself prefer to play as a dual wielding dagger class that is strictly dagger ability's, poisons and so forth. Is it possible that ninja is just a advancement that you can choose to go too?

Anyways, if anyone can clarify this info for me that would be awesome, i am aware there is very limited information out on both at this time, thanks for your time guys. I look forward to your response =)

Rogue is the class, Ninja is the job stemming from Rogue.

Well, as it currently sits, after 30 you progress to your job. In most if not all cases you do your group a great dis-service by not equipping your gem. Granted there are times when base class kicks butt, but for the most part, job is the way to go. We are smart players though and maybe, just maybe, Rogue might be the first class that wont need it. Hard to say, but we will find out soon enough.

I imagine that Rogue and Ninja are the jobs of the base class Thief (but that's just my imagination)...wouldn't that be something.

Hope springs eternal but I don't see any reasons why this should happen here. It's gonna be the typical "switch to your job or be a noob with lacking DPS".

it will all be with the cross classes... if you get as cross class LNC and PGL (doubt it, but whatever) you can be NIN without losing anything and simply ignore the mudra (hand stuff), and you'll still be able to use high level weapons without raiding (relics instead of allagan/primal weapons)

For ST purposes, BLM basically gets as little from a job as a it's possible to get, and it *still* doesn't do better as THM. The advantage of the extra cross-class skills is simply not enough to offset the loss of bonus stats (and, I can guarantee you that the Mudras are going to be another DPS increase as well). Rogue will not be able to do more damage than a Ninja, no matter how you slice it.

Yoshi has already confirmed that Rogue is the class and Ninja is the job. It's not conjecture, it's confirmation. As to Thief, Yoshi has *also* said that Rogue is, for all intents and purposes, Thief. He actually wanted it to explicitly be *called* Thief, but the rest of the dev staff disagreed with him, not because they thought that Thief should be a job, but because they couldn't imagine a city-state sanctioning a Thieves' Guild.
