What's Alfgar up to?

I kind of didn't expect to see him when I logged in after the patch.

He was all happy and cheering saying "we've won" and the like.

Is he there for everyone all the time now or is it just occasional? The latter implying this quest-thingy is ongoing but with changes. @_@

First of all, you havnt gotten any new achievement from it nor had i known, that Alfgar is existent at this patch.
I guess Alfgar is giving the same Achievemet as always but the developers changed his phrases to the current events that are ongoing like meeting Urianger Augurelt in the companie mission.

I've seen alfgar shouting in his usual spot in ul'dah when he does as far as i know the imperials are always just north of camp horizon, i've also seen a npc begginning with r in camp tranquil shouting about the imperials but i havent seen where they show up in the black shroud. To get a taste of victory you need to talk to the npc near the group of imperials to join the fight against them and then keep fighting them untill they retreat and open a chest containing deaspected crystals. You dont get any sp from killing the imperials as far as i've seen but you get quite a few shards.

When the NPC appears at camp Tranquil head north along the main path, you'll see a guy with a Chocobo, and a bunch of Imperials. They are at the first clearing along the path, I believe.

is this npc at tranquil next to the node, because Id love to fight some imperials :P

The NPC is by the node her name is Rosyia(or something close to that). She'll tell you very vague information about the attack, but when you find the Imperials (clearing closest to camp) you need to talk to Militia Outrider (the guy with the Chocobo) and than kill those imperial scum.

I spent a whole day waiting at both Camp Tranquil and Camp Horizon..
Never saw the NPC come to announce the invasion.

This sucks because before then I would always see the NPC announcing that it's over and during my weekend nothing happens.
