It's not exactly hard to figure out SE's vision when a brain is utilized.

Jobs are coming, and in the current scenario Archer will take the role of a buffer as Bard. This basically means that Archer's DD potential is at an all-time high and won't see much improvement when the Jobs are introduced (aside from buffs that affect everyone). Other DD's, PUGs MRDs and LNCs have yet to meet their full DD potential as Monks, Dark knights and Dragoons. And when the encounters are balanced with this in mind, an Archer (or Bard) as a DD simply won't cut it anymore. You will need heavy weapons (buffed by Bards) to make a dint to the bosses in a reasonable timeframe.

It's certainly not the developers who lack a vision. The players, however, could use some glasses to see further than up their nose.

Gondai: We’ll continue to break up what we’re working on over a number of patches, first 1.18 and then 1.19, and so on. It’d be impossible to release everything all at once. But I hope people won’t judge us too harshly on that, saying stuff like “Is this all there is to patch 1.18?!” It might not be for us to say, but I think things are going smoother than we expected, so please wait just a bit longer.

You're playing an unofficial beta, they really don't care if the remaining 15k players are that content right now, they have a lot of shit to do to make this game good, and they're going to do it either way.

Sad part is their experiments come once every 3 months and the guinea pigs are clearly better at interpreting the results than them.
