Possible solution to "ranged only dps"

Solution to the melee DDs having to run in and out all the time vs Ogre:

Learn how to fight Ogre.

Fixed.

Seriously. Ogre can be killed without a single archer and without any damage sustained except for the tank. Inferno drop can be stunned, and everything else avoided. You never have to run away from anything aside from running from ghosts when they port.

Manage your hate. Pay attention to the log. Pay attention to the ghosts. Stand in the right spots. And make sure everyone knows their role.

The only difference between archers and melee DD is more exact positioning (very easy) and stunning (again, quite easy.)

Will see if we can do a run without any ARC at all tomorrow. We do normally take some with us, not because of damage mitigation, but personal preference. Our melee DD do absolutely fine.

As soon as you do the ogre once or twice, you should see how feasible it is to do the ogre as all melee DD. And I can confirm (without pics sadly) that Inferno drop can be interrupted. Just saw it happen not minutes ago

Oh I've seen it a couple of times on ogre, but I wasn't able to replicate it.

Just try out different things and it will become extremely obvious.

And that's where the problem is. My LS suggested to go rank ARC up. And they don't seem interested in trying hard mode for us melee DD's benefit. This is what most of us are experiencing right now and I can't really blame them for doing it the most efficient way. I blame SE for their lack of vision.

I can't see it taking more than 1 run to figure it out. Use an ability as he's readying Inferno Drop, if it interrupts it you got it, if not try something else. It doesn't require any "special" skill and you'll likely shoot yourself in the foot for not realizing it before.

I'll be sure to try that next time every ARC and mage in my LS quits.

ive been thinking about suggesting our DDs bring throwing weapons for the ogre.

Same deal, they will want the real ranged DDs, not the makeshifts.
