My pt do enough dmg on t8 and we skip set 5 and 8 and we are from Eu, there might be different but if the different is 1% of boss hp, that is minimal
Australians have had to put up with high latency since forever and Australia is not big enough to warrant a separate server hub. Perhaps with more Chinese and Korean players coming in SE might set up a SE Asian server, but the JP servers are just as good.
At least EU players aren't as whiny as the NA players when they get the tiniest amount of lag.
I did say "latency" not "lag".
The reason for decreasing dps is because the latency increases the time for getting the "command execution confirmation" from the server that the client uses to calculate when you can use your next command.
Caused by this, the time you need to use commands do increase and in worst case number of skills you can use between movements is decreasing.

In my book they are the same when talking about this.
Ok that makes sense. But this only works for off gcd stuff and that generally limits you to 2 per gcd anyway due to 1s delay on them. So unless your delay is larger than 2.5s(give or take whatever skillpseed/spell speed brings) it shouldn't effect your dsp at all. Maybe I'm just thinking this wrong. But still kinda hard to see how it would effect. The reason for decreasing dps is because the latency increases the time for getting the "command execution confirmation" from the server that the client uses to calculate when you can use your next command.
I can't hear this crap anymore.
In WoW I have 20-30ms latency TOPS. I live in Germany, WoWs servers are located in Paris, if I'm not mistaken.
In FF-XIV I have latency that fluctuates between 1000 and 3000.
When there is an S mob out there in can go up to 30000 yes 30 SECONDS OF LATECY.
I try to rez people that are long since alive again yet I cannot see it lol.
The problem is NOT on my or my ISPs end. If they were I'd have problems with other online games too.
I can dodge 85% of all stuff, but sometimes I get hit despite being out of the yellow circle well before it disappears.
Wow that is really bad.
It can be between you and your ISP or specifically HOW your ISP(and their peers onward) routes your traffic towards SE servers(which are in Canada). The problem is NOT on my or my ISPs end. If they were I'd have problems with other online games too.
Here's an example:
At one point I was playing some game on a server in Frankfurt... I had latency ~30ms then something changed in the routing and I had latency of 100ms+. It appears one of the peers decided to route this connection through most of Europe(one of the points was in the Netherlands) to get there instead of just 2 countries away(I'm from Slovenia).
So yes ISP and the routing between them and onward can be the issue and it can be different for EACH and EVERY game unless they are in the same data center and using the same endpoints in the datacenter.
Do a traceroute towards cerberus(I believe this is the IP 199.91.189.26). When I check my own it get's routed by my ISP through Serbia and then to France... so going farther away than needed instead of going the shortest path.
It shoulh also show you were the latency increases.. for me it's at one point in France(goes from 40ms to 150ms).
Also try sorting that out here... maybe they can help you(you should hide your own ip address if posting that).

I am european player on "european" server and the only issues I have on ex primals are caused by lack of sleep or lack of skill. I understand that PS3 players have an issue of playing on console that truly is too lame for xiv and affect their gameplay directly but blaming servers sounds like crappy net or player to me.
Probably.
I think what he means is:
a japanese BLM with 30ms ping and a european BLM with 200ms ping wear exactly the same gear are doing the same fight with the same rotation.
they are smashing every skill, as soon as it's ready.
a parser records their damage over time.
the argument is: after 10 minutes the JP BLM will have a significantly higher average DPS recorded by the parser because
the JP BLM has casted let's say 500 spells, while the other one managed to cast 450 because of the difference regarding the server-client response.
I hope i got that right.

Thought this as well, but got taught better: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post2475927Probably.

So, with pre-qeueing like FF does, it is possible to put out the same DPS numbers![]()
