Converting Aetheryte Ring

Apparently the Aetheryte Ring is one of those items that can turn into any type of materia, rather than a crafting materia... But I am wondering if it turns into anything besides elemental materia, or is that just my bad luck? I just converted four in a row and got all elemental materia. Wanted to ask on here, before I waste any more out there during spiritbonding!

I got pie IV from it, and savage something. I got no problem with it tho since my GSM super easy HQing those rings and gold ore itself are easy to get, have quite abundance actually since my miner retainer sometimes brought those.

And there's the spiritbonding bonus on those rings. Unless someone could say otherwise, like it's not totally worth it or something. lol

I tried 5 times, got 5 elemental IV materias, and turned them in for a lovely CP materia IV back in time :3 that made my day

They can only turn into stat materia (STR/VIT/DEX/etc.), or elemental materia; nothing else. They're generally worthless to bond.

not really worthless, considering the added spiritbond stat bonus. Combined with having Miner 50 & Miner Retainer, I really have abundance of those. Plus, the ring only take 1 rose gold nugget, and it's not hard to HQ even from NQ mats.

Already converted dozens of aetherite rings myself.

You're generally better off spiritbonding another ring that can actually give you something good instead of the paltry +1 spiritbond increase, but whatever floats your boat.

Edit: and if you're really after that spiritbond+, you'd probably be better off with a Meteor Survivor Ring.

I guess best case scenario you get Vitality or piety IV (I think piety is only worth something because of novus, but I may be wrong and it's not worth a ton or anything). That or save up 5 to hopefully trade for something useful, but that seems very wasteful unless you somehow have no other options for level 45+ rings.

If you are spiritbonding everything but main weapon, you'll complete more pieces/hr using meteor rings over aetheryte, and 2/11 of them won't be automatically junk.

Sounds good! I have the meteor survivor rings and have been active in spiritbonding, but I usually go for wearing two convertible rings in order to recieve two more materia. i will definitely try the meteor survivor rings out more often now that you have said this!

at lv50 your better of skipping the meteor rings and just melding some t1 materia to them
i just use 2 rings i can convert and pop and sb pot.
