I´m gonna put this here cuz i don´t see where else it could fit.
This is kind of a request:

If I delete someone from my friends list, it´s because I dont want anything to do with that person, so naturally i wouldnt want that person sending me messages.
So PLEASE for the love of god, if i delete someone please also remove me from that person´s list...common sense really.

Anyway yeah I wasn't sure if a deleted "friend" still had you on their friendlist once you've deleted them. If this is in fact the case that's pretty...um.. awkward. A lot of times you will friend people you're doing certain content with and never really talk with them after said content is outdated (or you quit doing it). I'm personally kinda OCD about my Flist and I clean it out every once in a while. I don't want to blacklist someone I don't have a problem with, I just may not be close with them any more. I don't mind getting "messages" from them (to each their own here), but if the flist doesnt update on both ends that's definitely a problem that should be addressed... I'd prefer the Flist was a 2 way street...

Another issue pertaining to this is from 1.0 flist... I guess you have to "refriend" people? I had quite a few people from back then on my flist that if you hover over their name it gave the option to "send a friend request" even tho they were.. on my FRIEND list... Quite strange how the system currently works. I'm 99% sure in XI that if you deleted someone from your friends you were deleted from theirs as well. Not sure why they changed this.

Even if that did happen they still can send you a message they remember your name or they see you around town. I think removing me from there friend list would be more awkward. They see me a town and /tell me and be like oh you remove me from your friend list.

I remove people from my friend list and i don't care if they don't delete me. 90% of the time people never /tell back unless they see me in town and /wave and say how it going.

It IS helpful. If they don't want to hear from their old friends anymore, blacklist is the way to go

You know a gil seller can be deleted from your blacklist after a few days (under a week generally) ? my BL runs around 10-20 names which I delete with every weekly reset. Never hear of them again

Did you test out wether you stay on someone's list or is it jst an assumption ? because you know, people can still send you a /tell even if they aren't your friend....

People's name appear in orange if you are in the same FC/LS too, have you checked it isn't the case ? If it wasn't 2-ways, it would have no sense to have a confirmation pop-up to confirm a friendship in the first place.

As for RMT, I can guarantee you you can empty your BL every week.

I don't know of any other system that auto-deletes you from somebody else's flist when you delete them.

generally in my previous MMOs, it just flags you perma-offline. Now if you meet them in game well... idk, could be awkward if you never explained them why you don't want to deal with them anymore

Uh OP unless you talking about moogle mail anyone can send you messages via /tell regardless if they on your friendlist

I don't know of any other system that auto-deletes you from somebody else's flist when you delete them. Generally it's up to them to clean their flists same as it's up to you to clean out yours. Obviously, if you deleted this person because you didn't want contact with them and they've kept contacting you regardless, then the best way to solve that issue would be through blacklist.
