Yes. To me, turning up on a Class is the equivalent of turning up in gimped gear. While people may not like people SBing in content, at least that has a purpose; everyone needs materia at this point. Why turn up on a Class? What purpose does that server? To gimp your group, that's all.

Am thinking to try using a class when I am not in party content, such as soloing fates. Just need gear that isn't job specific, meaning no relic weapon. Could be fun to go back to having a wider range of borrowed skills.

Why should the initiator be penalized? You're choosing to not equip your job crystal and make the run harder for your group members. Purposely choosing to gimp your group members should justify a kick.

Well for starters it's still misuse. I'll say it again, while it does gimp the party it is still not a viable excuse to kick someone. Do we know if they are doing it on purpose? Who knows. Maybe they are new, just started out. maybe they don't know how to start their job quest, whatever the reason. Talk before you auto assume. Maybe they don't know that not using the job crystal hinders them. And I have never heard of someone "purposely" not using their crystal just to gimp a party. There is no benefit from the class user. Chances are they are not aware. So before people start kicking prematurely, just ask.

If they're level 30-32, then yes, it's perfectly normal that they are not aware of Jobs (the person that gives you the quest is in the same area, but whatever, people oversee things) and they should be told about it. If they don't know that the job crystal hinders them, then they can be told by the party, but they can still be kicked because it's majority rules.

I'm not auto-assuming, I HAVE met people that say "I don't like DRG (or insert whatever job you want here), I like Lancer better". Why do they do that? What thought process do they use to arrive to such a conclusion? We'll never know, but they can be kicked because it is hindering the rest of the group.

No, it is not a misuse, and there is proof earlier in the thread that shows this. If you're kicked because you haven't unlocked your job, then do so, and queue again, problem solved.

Which is kinda messed up, and is also the reason why I'm defending the whole "don't kick non crystal users" I never really seen anyone w/o their job crystal in lvl 50 content....ever? And if I did I'm sorta laid-back about it. Perhaps is my lack of experience of dealing with this issue.

Here's the thing. Healing first of all is a joke, no matter what, but some of the skills help. Tanking on the other hand is a different beast. People tend to think holding aggro in lower dungeons is hard because you have high level dps synced down. This is false, it's the same with lowbie DD that know what they're doing as well. And not having Defiance/Shield Oath for something like Stone Vigil is just going to make it hard on the tank, when it doesn't need to be.

i might do that too...once my WAR hits 50 all of my tank gear isn't job locked...

Had two attempted Bray Normal runs last night with a MRD tank. Neither run was a win. I was polite and made a suggestion to both MRDs to prioritize unlocking WAR. Hopefully they both took my advice to heart.

Actually, he's right. I got vote kicked from a CT run for spiritbonding. There was a huge thread here on the forums about it, I was doing my job well even with SBing gear but that's beside the point. I filed a report stating abuse of the vote kick system and that's is, in short, what I was told. I went on to tell the GM that is was a party I entered through the DF and it wasn't pre-made like s/he first believed, saying I shouldn't have joined a party that had a different play style. It is ridiculous because if a DPS in particular is kicked, they take a bigger loss than anyone else.

It's honestly just that classes don't have a very 'Final Fantasy' feel to me. I wish classes weren't in the game - I would have preferred just jobs. Having to go through class quests which don't interest me is tiresome. And SCH and SMN having to share attribute points is just annoying to me. Without classes that wouldn't be an issue.

Classes just feel like the same thing as jobs, but crappier. A useless copy that's not nearly as interesting. 'Why drive an old car when you can have a shiny new one?' is kinda what it feels like to me.

Dunno if this makes sense to anyone, or if anyone can relate.
I've just never liked the idea of classes.

All of that said, I have nothing against anyone playing classes if they prefer them. I would invite people on classes to my group any day.
