There is nothing stopping you, other than the party who will immediately vote kick the person not wearing their soul crystal.

I do it occasionally going in a party without a soul crystal and i'm still waiting to this day to report that one fool to kick me for not wearing one.
its been months and many cleared runs but still no luck D:
