I do it occasionally going in a party without a soul crystal and i'm still waiting to this day to report that one fool to kick me for not wearing one.
its been months and many cleared runs but still no luck D:
Report for what? GMs stated they won't intervene when vote kick is used due to different player strategy, you have to abide by what the majority decides.
You must select a reason for using votekick and you will get suspended if you abuse votekick for kicking for a reason you didn't select (otherwise known as votekick abuse). Where did you get this ridiculous claim from?

This quote is from this thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...d-immediately.
It's from a GM responding to a report about being kicked. I don't think this is the original thread that quote was posted in either, looking for that now.Although we understand the impact that is caused after being removed from a duty finder group, please be aware that Game Masters will be unable to take action if a group member has been removed due to a player dispute, or if their game style differs (i.e. skipping in-game cutscenes, disagreement on using specific boss encounter tactics etc).
To avoid such incidents in the future, we would advise to speak with either the group leader or fellow party members when joining a new group to discuss any specific party restrictions that need to be addressed (i.e. any loot priorities, allowing group members to watch cutscenes etc).
EDIT: Found it: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...e-at-its-best.

This is mostly referred to pre-made parties. If you join a party and the leader (overall party members) don't like the fact that you are on a class and not on a job, then that is understandable. But if this is happening within a PUG'd group, then it's different. You can't switch jobs once you're in a duty. So if you're kicked, then its still misuse. This quote is from this thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...d-immediately.

You can't vote kick in premades. Also, read the quote. It literally says "removed from a duty finder group"This is mostly referred to pre-made parties. My apologies then. But this does raise an issue. Example: if someone (for whatever reason) join a duty via duty finder on a class, someone in your party say "woah, why are you using a class?" Then you shortly get kicked, what then? Was it justifiable? That person couldn't really switch jobs if he could, right? So did he deserve the kick? Should the person who initiated the kick be penalized?

Actually, he's right. I got vote kicked from a CT run for spiritbonding. There was a huge thread here on the forums about it, I was doing my job well even with SBing gear but that's beside the point. I filed a report stating abuse of the vote kick system and that's is, in short, what I was told. I went on to tell the GM that is was a party I entered through the DF and it wasn't pre-made like s/he first believed, saying I shouldn't have joined a party that had a different play style. It is ridiculous because if a DPS in particular is kicked, they take a bigger loss than anyone else.

You don't have to abide by anything. Opting out of using a job crystal is not and never will be a viable reason to use vote kick on someone. Of the reasons you can vote kick someone, not using a job crystal is not one of them. If you use the vote kick feature just because you see someone not using a job crystal is misuse of vote kick. Plain and simple.

It's honestly just that classes don't have a very 'Final Fantasy' feel to me. I wish classes weren't in the game - I would have preferred just jobs. Having to go through class quests which don't interest me is tiresome. And SCH and SMN having to share attribute points is just annoying to me. Without classes that wouldn't be an issue.
Classes just feel like the same thing as jobs, but crappier. A useless copy that's not nearly as interesting. 'Why drive an old car when you can have a shiny new one?' is kinda what it feels like to me.
Dunno if this makes sense to anyone, or if anyone can relate.
I've just never liked the idea of classes.
All of that said, I have nothing against anyone playing classes if they prefer them. I would invite people on classes to my group any day.
