What's stopping us from queueing without a job?

Have you noticed that there's no actual restriction that states, "We cannot enter this particular duty finder without a job class." As long as you meet the iLvl requirement, the matchmaker's all like, "Hi, Sugar Candy. C'mon in." So why do we all enter the duty finder on a job class anyways? Why is this unspoken rule the one with the most followers? There might be some understandable hostility if you're trying to pull this taboo in T5 or Levi Ex, but the duty roulette is simple enough.

Don't just ask yourself. Ask the person inside yourself. Your inner subconscious. The one that determines the universal truths of your galaxy. Why do I (you) play a job class when it is not necessary?

Aside potentially hindering your party? Nothing. You lose far too many stats try to compensate it with extra crossclass skills, so you can queue class if you want...but you're only hindering yourself and your party in the long run. While Emerald and Topaz carbuncle are essentially Garuda and Titan, they're just weaker versions. You lose out on Regen and such by not being a WHM and so on so forth.

I saw a group asking others to join them on their class without the soul crystal. Seems like they wanted to try it to see how far they could get fighting Mog HM. Sounded like a fun idea to me.

Back in 1.0 we only had classes for Moogles (when they were actually a challenge), so that's probably what they wanted to see.

I do it occasionally going in a party without a soul crystal and i'm still waiting to this day to report that one fool to kick me for not wearing one.
