If whatever you're shooting doesn't die after you pump 8, 32 caliber, slugs into it, it's probably a dragon.
Because we don't have the Adventurer (no weapon style) class. And that's terrible.
They need to remove the stat buff for equipping a Soul Crystal (or buff Class stats post-30 rather).
They should give classes one unique class-specific action each.
Because Jobs are simply better. Ever had a Marauder or Gladiator try to tank in the 40 range? It's terrible, can't even hold hate.
If Yoshida was serious about Classes being for solo, and Jobs for group play, he'd have removed the stats bonus Jobs get and instead have that apply to the party stats bonus; making Jobs weak unless they're in a party. Of course, people would just find that annoying, and it wouldn't really work well with things like the Relic quest at this point, thought it would make Chocobos much more important than they are. So instead we just have Jobs which are better than Classes, with Classes being left in for some half-assed reason.
1 gladiator or marauder is totaly fine in CT and story/trials roulette since there is no use for 2 tanks you're forced to go 2-2-4, but thats because you're trying to play not in your main role.
People don't realize this in real life. You take "classes" in order to get a "job," AKA college/university :P That's why you do classes to later specialize in a job. That was the concept, lol.
You lose too many useful skills and stats to be of any real use to your party without your soul crystal. Want examples? Let's go...
Gladiator: Good luck tanking without Shield Oath against high DPS classes. Also, enjoy your lower HP margin and no Hallowed Ground.
Conjurer: No Regen, no Benediction, no Divine Seal. Three of your most powerful skills lost in a heartbeat. Also, lower Mind.
Arcanist: Carbuncle's only, classed as a DPS so no healing potential beyond Physick. No Fester or other truly damaging skills.
The other catch is that myth armor, relic and zodiac wepaons are locked to jobs, not classes. So unless you're sporting a full set of weathered gear, your stats are going to suffer in addition to the lack of a soul crystal.
Actually, all the 110 gear (minus Novus) is able to be equipped by a class.
