Sujet : Big Fish and You - Patch 2.3

Just caught a Son of Levin in Rootslake (South Shroud) using Caddisfly Larva (straight catch). Time was around 9pm during a Thunderstorm, with a Gathering of 373. I know at least 349 is enough, as it escaped me once before when I didn't have the food buff.

I'm sorry for asking something that's probably second nature to all you FSH, as I'm saving my FSH for last, but am wondering what exactly do you do with all of these rare, untradable fish? What is the point, what are they used for? Thanks in advance!

caught 2 meteor survivor during Wind weather. 375 gathering, between 3-5.

Before 2.3 there were no use for them. Now they can be used in culinary desynth and some swimwears are coming from it so there's a point selling them on Market Boards or desynthing them yourself if you're high enough. You can also get Clear Demi Materia by desynthing them, no purpose but can be sold for more gil than fishes to npc.

Most of these fish are untradable, no? So how are you selling them on the marketboards?

Yeah, you're right, I didn't pay attention. After patch 2.2, only the Silver Sovereign was untradable among the legendary fishes since it was needed to get the high level rod. I thought it was the same with the Olgoi-Khorkhoi this time but actually all of 2.3 fishes are untradable. I wonder why...

I do not sell fish though, I'm desynthing them. ^^'

Edit : Well, not all of 2.3 fishes are untradable actually but like you said most of them are.

Update # 13 - Son of Levin, discovered by Shane of Gilgamesh in the Rootslake fishing spot of South Shroud, using Caddisfly Larva bait. He caught it around 9 pm during a Thunderstorm, with a Gathering rate of 349+.
Update # 14 - Cupfish, Blind Iron Mines fishing spot of Lower La Noscea, using a Syrphid Basket. It was caught at 1823 hours in Clear weather, with a Gathering rate of 381.
Update # 15 - Fingers, Crescent Cove fishing spot of Western Thanalan, using Northern Krill. It was caught at 1822 hours in Overcast weather, with a Gathering Rate of 378.
