I can confirm isn't a factor nor time it seems for the Matriarch. Caught mine midday in clear weather. Missed 3 out of 4 times with 370 gathering.

I don't really understand why they're dragging this hardcore fishing out even more. I mean FIFTY new big fish? It's getting a little ridiculous... Nobody even appears to be all that interested, at least not in the way we were with the first 37.

Honestly I'm not as interested as I was. Seems like the devs really don't give two fish about this class. The desynth (so far) has been a waste of time too. It's so hard to catch two-star fish even when you are geared to the teeth. Add the fact that they don't even seem to care that a tacklebox would make this class a lot better and fish do not give fieldcraft demimateria for the new fishing pole. They've taken my favorite class and pooped on it.

Also, I like fishing and I don't do it for rewards but they could at least offer a title, a minion or any purely cosmetic reward.

Update # 6 - Anomalocarus, Sea of Clouds fishing spot in Coerthas using a Hover Worm to Cloud Cutter (HQ) mooch. Time: Unknown, Weather: Unknown, Gathering: Unknown
Update # 7 - Captain's Chalice, Sapsa Spawning Grounds of Western La Noscea using a Spoon Worm to Full Moon Sardine (HQ) mooch. It was caught during Clear Weather at 12:56 am with a Gathering of 373.
Update # 8 - Hannibal, Bluefog fishing spot of Northern Thanalan using a Spinner to Common Sculpin (HQ) mooch. It was caught during Foggy weather at an unknown time, with a Gathering rate of 367.

Note # 1 -- Due to the weather icons now being labelled in the game, the word Cloud, clouds, and Cloudy have been replaced with OverC (short for Overcast).
Note # 2 - Hannibal at the Bluefog fishing spot was caught with a Spinner to Common Sculpin (HQ) mooch, as was so noted in the Update and in the Excel file. However, it is noted that Spinnerbait has a 50% chance of catching Common Sculpin, while a Spinner has only a 33% chance. Therefore, the Excel file has been changed to Spinnerbait, in order to better reflect the best bait to use.

Note # 3 - Captain's Chalice of Sapsa Spawning Grounds fishing spot was caught with a Spoon Worm to Fullmoon Sardine (HQ), and was so noted in the Update and in the Excel file. However, it is noted that an Iron Jig has a 100% chance of catching a Fullmoon Sardine, while the Spoon Worm has only a 50% chance. Therefore, the Excel file has been changed to Iron Jig, in order to better reflect the best bait to use. Additionally, please remember that Fullmoon Sardines may only be caught between 6 pm and 6 am.

Update # 9 - Meteor Survivor, discovered by Elyna in The Salt Strand of Lower La Noscea using a Rat Tail. Two of them were caught during Overcast weather between 0300 - 0500, with a Gathering Rate of 367.
