Are the gathering requirements really that high? I have doubts whether they I intended players to be perfectly melded, eat the best food and have the fc buff. Because miner and botanist don't require all that. You can do any node proiveded you have forager and your melds are close to cap. No buffs required.

Been having some rough times in East La Noscea but i can added Mirrorscale to being caught with 354 gather, I did get a few bites for The Terpsichorean but did not pull one in yet.
Captain's Chalice is definately higher than 354 I got the insuffienct gathering message for that one but not Terpsi.

In regards to comparing miner and botanist to fisher, one thing to note is those two have skills you can use to increase you gathering rate in order to successfully get what you want from the node.

New Excel file uploaded 8/17/14 - 2000 hours - All La Noscean fish have been updated using all sources available. Note that the Gathering Rate is still subject to change in many cases. I will be updating the Shroud tomorrow, Thanalan on Tuesday, and Coerthas / Mor Dhana on Wednesday.

343 gathering is insufficient for Mirrorscale.
