Iron Noose has a confirmed (by me) bait of Spinner, Weather: Fog .. I got my first nibble at 4:46 pm, and there is a report of a nibble at 11:?? pm .. I've adjusted the information accordingly.

Why did you choose Spinner out of curiosity? I tried a long time using silver spoon lure as that was the highest % of catch rate for Ropefish so I assumed that would be the bait. Apparently there is no real theory for which bait actually catchs it? Unless it is a mooch of course. I have been trying to theorycraft this one and Spearnose for a long time, I still haven't fished up Spearnose in Goblet >_>
also Hannibal at least 359, caught with that (been trying to catch fish with lower gathering lately to test numbers).

I didn't ... It was reported on ff14angler that someone had caught it using a Spinner, then tried it myself. As an FYI, I caught one at 4 am, and had a nibble at 4:45 pm, so I am going to guess that the Time is Any, with Weather: Fog being the only proviso. Why did you choose Spinner out of curiosity? The Goblet - Spearnose - Caddisfly Larva - Time: 11 pm to 12 am - Weather: Cloudy
Why do fish keep getting away when you have more than enough gathering to catch them? Trying for The. Lone Ripper and the entry shows greater than 342 gathering, I have 366 and it keeps getting away.
thank youIt does mean "less than" ... At this time, for most of the 2.3 fish, we don't really have a whole lot of "minimum gathering rate needed" information. These fish are so hard to catch, in some cases, that most people are just stacking up on HQ foods and FC bonuses just trying to catch them. As time goes on, we might get a report that 353 was not enough, so know we know that the next possible number is 354+, or that is was caught at 383, and then the next person reported 377, which slowly starts to narrow down what is actually needed. It's not really precise at this time, just the best possible information that we are aware of.![]()
you'll even miss most of them with 393 :<
edit: I think they are intended to have 20-30% catch rates, unless how much gathering you have
maybe the highest possible catch rate is 30%, you might get it with 370 gathering and every gathering point above is just waste
thats what I start thinking
the only point of the supra rod is, that I dont need a guild buff or food anymore to land everything (atleast sometimes, but thats also the case with 393 gathering)

Thought I'd post up my Big Fish spreadsheet since there's been some good feedback so far. I'm pretty bad when it comes to spreadsheets but hopefully it has some condensed info that may come in handy. It includes the usual name/zone/hole/bait info, visual catch windows, ilvls, patch inclusion, some desynth data, min gathering skill interpolations, and random comments from my observations. It comes in handy for those leveling CUL desynth since you can just sort for whatever ilvl you want, which was something I sorely needed for myself when going through the OP's spreadsheets.
I pulled this data mostly thanks to these OF threads, XIVDB for the ilvl info, and the wonderful ff14angler.com site going through all the comments and time data with a fine-tooth comb. Hope it's useful for someone.
