permit FC queueing for Frontline

The hardest thing about this (very lore friendly) idea is the queue system. If I queue up solo, do I get randomly put with Adders (GC) or Maelstrom (FC)? Can I duo-queue with a Flame who is in a different Maelstrom FC? Do you get placed with a random company if your party qualifies for two?

I'd suggest that it works like this:
-Solo queuing places you in your own Grand Company.
-Party queuing is only available if your entire party belongs to a single Grand Company OR Free Company.
-If your party is a group of individuals that belongs to both the same GC and FC, the GC takes priority.

This makes it so there's no distinct advantage to joining an FC that's not under your GC.

Great ideas! Quoted below is myself from earlier in the thread, I mashed up the idea quickly so all yours may be better... either way, we're giving SE solid options; no good reason GC-restriction should remain.

If it's a mixed group of FC Members, FC GC Affiliation.

If it's all one or the other, whichever it is.

If everyone is both, two options for SE: either whichever queue is faster or Party Leader's personal GC Affiliation.

I agree with Parz3val on this one. It might make sense from a lore perspective to keep it segregated by GCs, but from a gameplay perspective it doesn't and gameplay needs to come first. PvP in FFXIV is already hardly supported and Frontlines will have a hard time changing that if people can't freely play with their friends.

Square Enix has a habit of making really great content, but with weird and inconvenient restrictions. Sometimes they need us to tell them as much so the game can be improved.

It's not like PVP is this game selling point anyways, so the fact they add all these little restrictions and annoyances just hurts it even more. I really hope the Dev's are reading this thread and giving it some though QUE times are atrocious and we can't even play with fellow FC members cause of GC restrictions, this is just really bad gameplay design, regardless if its fits the lore or not. Gameplay>lore.

I feel like most people arguing against this are the ones who haven't tried ranking up in Wolves Den whatsoever.

You should have coordinated with your buddies prior to grinding to 40. Remember, your thread in general is about trying to play with people you want to play with.

You could have discussed with your friends and switched early on before grinding to 40.

Did try coordinating with friends, but we were all post 30 in our respective GC's prior to Frontlines release.

Also, it's messed up to require anyone change since some are huge aesthetic turn-offs (like my friends hate the Pirate motif of Maelstrom, I can't stand Ul'dah, etc.).

In large part SE's fault as they'd stated in the past that GC decision would have next-to-no affect on playability (essentially).

Also, I have a GC PvP LS, but I want to play with my FC mates & current friends moreso.
