permit FC queueing for Frontline

That's one of the easiest things to balance with a mercenary system allowing anyone to fight for whoever they want.

As you say, you can be 100% sure not before long everyone will say I.E: "Maelstrom is the best PVP GC"....and people wanting an easy ride will all start joining Maelstrom....and so that GC queues begin to become longer and longer since everyone is trying to fight for one GC.

With a Mercenary system you allow:
- FCs or friends in different GCs can fight alongside.
- GCs balance itself out, when queues become long, the real pvpers will say "srew it, I want to get it" and can join asTwin/Flames mercenaries.

You can make some penalty like....IDK, you cannot get PVP achivements while being a mercenary or something.

Its interesting to see people just blaze away at the OP, saying that he can switch GC anytime and that he should just do other content. Odds are these people are in FC's that started together and hence have the same GC affiliation. I know because I was in one such FC back when I first started this game, 90%+ of us were affiliated with the same GC. Or they have no intent on playing in Frontlines.

But regardless of their reasons to oppose the OP. They have Yet, as in they have Not supplied any reason where the OP's ideas or suggestions are detrimental to the game. They are simply here for the sake of disagreeing.


Are they trolling? Possibly. But I'm going to give benefit of the doubt and just assume ignorance. So I'll make this statement. Changing it so that you can queue for your Free Company's affiliation isn't going to hurt anyone. And if Lore is actually that important. Then what should happen is we should be restricted from being in opposing FC's or Groups with opposing Free Companies. The Frontlines are being fought over, correct? That's war. That means the Eorzean Alliance is gone. To facilitate that, they should allow everyone a onetime switch to a GC of their choice. They keep the highest progress they've earned in their PVE and PVP rank. And then when someone makes a new character, they must choose a GC affiliation that cannot be switched. Of course they'll have to add new class and job quests as well.

Would that ever happen? Probably not. Which means Lore as a reason is too sketchy. SE should decide to go all in or all out with this. If we're going to have factions, lets have factions. Otherwise toss it out.

This really is inexcusable. It was such a bad decision from SE, there is really absolutely no defense to it.

I can't believe the number of players who try to defend it with horrible reasoning. "But you can change your GC!" and "We knew this was coming, so you have no right to complain" are the best ones.
