in your world, nobody makes new friends. that's sad.
In my world, I prefer balanced game systems.
How would you resolve the issue of keeping people in the three GC?
Because the grind to 40 is rather difficult, most people end up staying in their respective GC and fighting for them. When you make it easy to switch, everyone will become your NEW FRIENDS and rock the other two GC because no one wants to be on the losing side. Once this snowballs enough it will be exactly like GW2 in WvWvW, where it was so bad, there was no one left to kill because everyone was always transferring to the winning side. Not only was it bad for the losing side, it was boring for the winning side. The problem wasn't resolved until we put a crystal charge on the transfers. Here, the only thing deterring you from leaving is your ranks.
So if you want to see this lift off losing ranks when switching, talk about how to actually implement it properly but at the same time avoiding the same catastrophe we saw in GW2.

another one of those threads.
It was clear that choosing an GC willl mean something in the future, and that certain events will limit players from playing with each other when they are in different GC. This also existed in 1.0, i think it was chocobo caravans.
Its always cute to read "We are forced to change our GC" Nobody forces you to do anything, this game offers a lot where GC affiliation doesn't matter at all.
PVP Rank reset sucks though. Because in the Wolf's Den. I am not fighting for my GC but myself. And where is the sense in removing morale from frontlines, when the increased stats from PVP Rank still seem to apply :|

Two things:
(1) No it wasn't, not at all. Many Google searches later & most places say it's merely a matter of aesthetic/statistical preference; the game itself didn't tell us so, and most players don't know how to scour Live Letters or research such hardly touched on topics... most places delineate the choice as superficial.
Even in-game, all you receive is Minfilia essentially telling you to 'go with your heart', to whichever GC delivers the most rousing speech... not much in the way of telling you the choice will have ramifications on playability with friends or gameplay, period.
I've even read a few places people expressing that Yoshi-P essentially told us our choice of GC shouldn't make a substantial difference... I'd consider being forced into a GC I don't like in order to Frontline with friends of different tastes in GC very substantial (especially when significant searching seems to point to the conclusion it's a trivial decision with little-no bearing on playability).
(2) We are forced to change GC's if we want to Frontline alongside a friend of a different GC Affiliation. It's cute when people ignore the context of such points.

I don't necessarily agree different GC members should be intermingled in the same Frontlines group. However, I think it's absolutely ludicrous that your personal PVP experience/rank if forfeited should you decide to switch Grand Companies. That is honestly about the stupidest thing in this game, IMO.

So who is the person having a waeapon aimed at your face screaming "CHANGE GC"
Its your mirror isn't it?
Many google searches later? How many? One?
Are you the same guy from the last thread? Cherry picking what you want to read and argue against, ripping things out of context?
Sorry, but you were the one who took my post out of context.
I directly addressed the content/context of your post, at minimum your main argument about 'nobody forcing us to do anything'.
I will address it once more, since you felt the need to bring it up again, albeit in different terms.
I will quote myself so you see it this time, "we are forced to change GC's if we want to Frontline alongside a friend of a different GC Affiliation."
In other words, 'in order to'. I have no other option but to switch GC's if I want to Frontline alongside a friend of a different GC Affiliation.
In a sense, I am 'forced' to swap GC's, if I want to Frontline alongside a friend of a different GC Affiliation.
And I don't appreciate your snarky remark regarding the amount of research I've conducted, as I expressed it was extensive ("many").
Another portion you conveniently ignored.

How about. This may be a crazy idea. How about we wait, for what is yet to come.
Maybe there will be a FC vs FC thing too which will be decide on GC too
But let me guess. You want it still now
So now you've stooped to this... you're again just going to neglect my previous reply? Cool, enjoy yourself.
In the meantime, I've done even further research & updated the OP if you're interested in checking it out & discussing further.
But I take it you're just going to keep spamming my thread with posts like the above now, huh?
