permit FC queueing for Frontline

It was clear that choosing an GC willl mean something in the future, and that certain events will limit players from playing with each other when they are in different GC.

Its always cute to read "We are forced to change our GC" Nobody forces you to do anything.

Two things:


(1) No it wasn't, not at all. Many Google searches later & most places say it's merely a matter of aesthetic/statistical preference; the game itself didn't tell us so, and most players don't know how to scour Live Letters or research such hardly touched on topics... most places delineate the choice as superficial.

Even in-game, all you receive is Minfilia essentially telling you to 'go with your heart', to whichever GC delivers the most rousing speech... not much in the way of telling you the choice will have ramifications on playability with friends or gameplay, period.

I've even read a few places people expressing that Yoshi-P essentially told us our choice of GC shouldn't make a substantial difference... I'd consider being forced into a GC I don't like in order to Frontline with friends of different tastes in GC very substantial (especially when significant searching seems to point to the conclusion it's a trivial decision with little-no bearing on playability).


(2) We are forced to change GC's if we want to Frontline alongside a friend of a different GC Affiliation. It's cute when people ignore the context of such points.

Sorry, but you were the one who took my post out of context.

I directly addressed the content/context of your post, at minimum your main argument about 'nobody forcing us to do anything'.

I will address it once more, since you felt the need to bring it up again, albeit in different terms.

I will quote myself so you see it this time, "we are forced to change GC's if we want to Frontline alongside a friend of a different GC Affiliation."

In other words, 'in order to'. I have no other option but to switch GC's if I want to Frontline alongside a friend of a different GC Affiliation.

In a sense, I am 'forced' to swap GC's, if I want to Frontline alongside a friend of a different GC Affiliation.

And I don't appreciate your snarky remark regarding the amount of research I've conducted, as I expressed it was extensive ("many").

I guess I'm one of the "weird ones" who would have more fun fighting against FC friends rather than with them. We'll be in Team Speak most likely and calling each other Sand People or Squid Faces.

I honestly couldn't agree with your more m8; it's a contradiction to the entirety of this system. I run a FC-COBRA on Cactuar it's "Immortal Flames" yet I'm Maelstrom- I shouldn't be allowed hold such a standing according to LORE wise.

SE, doesn't care until the carebear community starts crying about it. Just wait for the 99% to make a fuss and it will happen.

I would really like if FC members could queue together regardless of personal grand company affiliation. A few members of my FC are already switching GC so they can team up for Frontline together. I've been asked multiple times if I would switch, but my final decision was made ages ago when I joined the Twin Adder. I chose my favourite and don't intend to join one that I dislike.

I can't help but feel disappointed that I may not be able to play on my friends' team though. I sure hope that FC grand company affiliation can be used to team up.

I agree with Parz3val on this one. It might make sense from a lore perspective to keep it segregated by GCs, but from a gameplay perspective it doesn't and gameplay needs to come first. PvP in FFXIV is already hardly supported and Frontlines will have a hard time changing that if people can't freely play with their friends.

Square Enix has a habit of making really great content, but with weird and inconvenient restrictions. Sometimes they need us to tell them as much so the game can be improved.

1) From previous experience on several games, faction based pvp is terrible, unbalanced and unenjoyable.
2) You're excluded to join your friends if they're in different GCs so you're bound to pug with random people and most likely get doomed to fail (lack of communication). Don't tell me you can change GCs because that's not a rational solution. Some people have cooldown on the GC switching, others might be doing certain GC achievements, others might lose their pvp ranks (following someone who made calcs on forums about it, would take nearly a year?).
3) For the above reasons, people will probably spam frontlines after update because it's something new, and will be ignored some time after that because people will be bored of losing and not enjoying frontlines while getting stomped by premades who were able to switch GC or already were in the same.

They should lower the cd to swtich GC drastically at least.
