Where to grind to rank up at around 21?

Sorry for having to ask this, but I never took the opportunity to use the leve link function for maximum XP, and now I'm having a hard time ranking up with leves.

Can anyone give me some good areas to grind mobs from 21+?

I did a lot of quests in Limsa pre-patch, but those never gave me experience. Are there any quests that do now that I can focus on? Or would leve/grinding be best?

Basically, what will be the easiest way to level post-patch at 21? I have no linkshell and no friends (Poor, pitiful me XD) so it's hard to do any grouping with people as I'm still kind of new.

If you don't have a linkshell and can't get one on your server, at R21 I'd change servers.

Seems most or all quests give SP now, so that's good. Otherwise look for mobs 5 or more ranks above you. You can search for them at ffxiv.yg.com. Behest also could be fun.

Yah I tried for some behest in the time I had today, but no guards were popping up. :\ Is there a clock somewhere in game that tells you when they'll be up? I'm gonna stay on this server for now because my friends decided this is where they'll be when they come back.

Type /clock. That will give you all sorts of info, including when the next leve reset is, and when the next behest starts. Basically, behest starts every 30 minutes in real world time (on the hour and half hour). Leves reset every 36 hours in real world time.

It can be difficult to get someone to offer you a LS pearl if they don't know you're looking for one. Don't feel bad asking for one. The worst they can say is no.

If you don't want to come right out and ask, maybe ask them if they like their LS, or if they can give you some recommendations. I'm not on your server, so I don't know much about the LSs there.

You can also search these new player forums for LSs -- there are several posts in which players offer LS advice for different servers -- or you can search the forums for your specific server. LSs sometimes post "ads" there saying that they're seeking new players.

The easiest way to level after patch seems to be party XP'ing. At your level I'd recommend maybe a light party (3-5 people) in Nanawa mines off the Cellar Puks there, Island Crabs South or North of Cedarwood, Hippogryph by the bridge in Coerthas Central Lowlands, Puks at Mun-toy Cellars, or Pteroc Matron along zone wall, SW of Camp Dragonhead .

Once you get to ~23-28 I'd recommend Antling Diggers in Copperbelle mines. As for soloing I hear guildleves are really still the best for that, as well as some of the quests but I'd personally recommend finding a group.

There are several social/leveling linkshells on Selbina you could apply to. A good place to search for them is http://www.ffxivpro.com/ . I myself in addition to being in Triple Spark am in Asia Pacifica a leveling shell for people who play from 7 pm PST to 7 am PST.
