Hey cN give something else and the Mount both low drop rates. I like low drop rates, means when I get one not everyone will have it.

I guess people are still really caught up on being "special" but I mean really it doesn't matter. It's like getting one of the first new coil weapons on the server, sure it's cool but really people stop caring pretty quickly, I remember when I got nightmare and very few had it. Fat chocobo is my favorite though >_>; even with the special ponies around.

Why don't we take it one step further? Apply this to coil. Any dicussion about coil, any mention of it's name. The drop rate goes to .00000001% and sometimes it'll just drop some animal skin from the chest.

Naw, not far enough. Let's remove all loot from the game. If anyone mentions anything within the game, that is removed as well. Let's just have people run around naked with no loot to get or pretty much nothing to do.

To be serious, let people get the mounts they want in the game. Making things "rare" is in the past, also nobody should care if someone else get their "special" mount.

Like I said, things need to stop being handed out like candy. Otherwise everyone gets it and then people don't get to have/enjoy the feeling of "hey, I got that. Not many people have it" That's a nice feeling for me.

I want the "Hey I got this mount. I don't care how many other people have it, as long as I got mine." type feeling. Funny how we both have two different feelings on the issue. The difference is, mine doesn't screw over other players due to forced e-peen.

Also, judging from the PF's asking for EX primal help. Your comparison to it being "handed out like candy" is false.

I have yet to acquire any of the EX primals mounts myself and Twelve know how much I'd love to have one, but I also feel that they're there with that lousy drop rate also to keep people queueing for these trials. Keeps the duty finder going, if nothing else.

Just change it to a straight inventory drop with everyone getting an equal chance of getting the said mount with a lockout once the mount is in your inventory and/or has been used to prevent people from getting multiples and diluting the odds of other players. Keep it at 1%, and with this system in place two extreme possibilities can occur:

1) No one in the group will get it.

..or

2) Everyone in the group will get it. (RNGesus smiles upon you)

IMO 1% drops should always be character exclusive and should not be rolled or looted on. It makes and already tedious item to gain that much more tedious. This applies to any game with 1% drops

Wanting to be a unique snowflake because you have something other people can't get is a horrible mentality and excuse for low drop rates.

That and you have no right to be a snowflake with something you yourself didn't even earn. The fact that someone gets one of these items is not a matter of them earning it, but simply them getting lucky. In my opinion, that is not something worth "showing off" or being proud of.

That's actually a good point. Unfortunately there is no middle ground in MMO's (Or FF fans for that matter). And the problem is that the Duty Finders needs people flowing into it or else the majority of players will be locked out of most if not all the content. And making the dungeons and trials solo-able would be against the principles of MMO's.

It would be eaiser for Square to come out and say "We've screwed up...again" and just remove the ponies, period. And then have them be attainable for all players somewhere else (while forcing those that already have them to re earn then like everyone else)

Alas I fear I'll be slipping into hypocripsy but I feel that those that complain about low drop rates should be heard, but punished for insulting others. And those that flaunt s their ATMA or other Special Snowflake stuff should also be punished if they show signs that it affects their ego.

Stop using game terms you don't understand.

This is just a rare reward.
Rare rewards are good, This game already hands you everything else.

It is gated content. Gated behind RNG. Everything that is added to this game is content. If content is put behind a wall, like ridiculously low drop rates, it is in fact, gated.

As for this game handing you everything else, you couldn't be further from being right.

There is a major difference between something being hard to get because completing the task is actually challenging, and something being hard to get because you have to get lucky enough to receive it.

If that is what makes things fun for you, perhaps you should play the lottery instead of this game. You can have all the fun you want gambling with a miniscule percentage of a chance at actually "succeeding" in your goal.
