    Not enough horisontal progression

This is what to me the game seems to be lacking the most.

A lot of the additional questing is just for vanity or pets.

Beyond relic improvement there's not much we can do to improve our characters.
When you hit a wall like Coil 4 or 5 there's no options for you to do to overcome those challenges until you've cleared it.

This is my personal opinion but I would like to see other maybe slower ways to obtain gear that would make clearing the bottleneck challenges more doable in a DF party. That way people could do something to work towards the goal of clearing harder content.

Maybe quests to earn melding slots for gear or earning echo points for a specific fight which would be consumed once the player clears it?

I know hc players hate these kinds of threads but I play a LOT 7 days a week and I've just reached a point where I can either keep doing the same fight attempts over and over or just play for vanity.

Gear will not be sufficient enough to cover the point of players dying to mechanics.

They have been slowly nerfing mechanics in roadblock fights, also providing gear via other means.

I honestly think that's enough. 7 days is a lot, thought about a static perhaps?

They will be implementing hunts with 2.3, that way you can earn oils and sands to keep upgrading your gear w/o doing coil.

What we need is open world content that is not locked after time lockouts, i know some ppl hate RNG (low drop rates is the only alternative to time lockouts) but this content is needed for players hitting a wall and players who have nothing to do between lockout and lockout.

Soldiery gear, hunts to reward sands, oils tomes, and upgraded GC gear. CT2 dropping ilvl 100 gear and will also drop tomestones, oils and sands at some point. Crafted, albeit ilvl 90 but fully melded is enough for pretty much everything in game. Plus accesories from Ramuh, no idea how high/low the drop rate for the weapon will be but won't be surprised if it is a similar drop rate to the mirror from Levi ex at least.

Theres options in ways to gear up, more with 2,3 next week.

Sorta like Atma/novus but for armor too? People found that to be a bit boring. Plus I don't really think is going to help much with those bottleneck challenges. Parties on df usually fail because of one shot mechanisms. A slightly better piece of armor is not going to help much. Plus aren't players overgeared already for t5, especially when you take into account echo.

Gotta agree with the raid mechanics in replies here.

There should be some way to earn "fight learned"-status in this game and enter a DF with that merit. Maybe like surviving 'til the end with a bunch of NPCs first before makin real players suffer constant restarts and time wasted because you don't know when landslide hits?

I know relic quest is slow but that's exactly my point here. You don't HAVE to do it but it's the ONLY way to improve your character in any way if you're stuck in some phase of the game.

In other words my appreciation for variety at times wins over my loathing of the fates.

I don't know if better gear actually helps where it counts in this game but surely there could be other ways to earn leverage in harder battles?
Hard to earn consumable buffs that prevent derpy players from flying off the arena? Grind hard modes to earn auto-phoenix down items?
I'm sure some of you could think of something smarter.
