PC- Controller Configuration Issues

Before reading, this problem does not happen with any other game or application so I do not believe that it is an issue with the specific products. This is my first attempt at trying to use the controller on this game. I have played with a keyboard up until now.

In the settings I try to select my Xbox One controller. For some reason my Razer Deathstalker Ultimate keyboard shows up on the list of controllers. When I try to select the Xbox One controller, after a few seconds the settings override my choice and change back to the Razer, even if I click apply settings. No matter what I seem to do, uplug, replug, the Razer keyboard is picked up as a gamepad in the config and overrides my Xbox One controller. The Xbox One controller does work for the few seconds before the settings automatically revert back to the Razer keyboard.
