... You know that all those settings are saved on the client, while characters themselves are obviously on the server. You should also know, having played on PS3 that is, that they put in an option on the launcher for this very occurrence.

There wasn't anything there. I read through the fine print on the Mogstation several times through making sure everything was correct. When XIV was finally ready, it updated with the data for the PS4 and PC that had special effects and additions, and I didn't see anything else honestly.
So, like the picture in the link Nicobo provided, you just glossed over that option down in the bottom right corner? There wasn't anything there. I upgraded my version via the Mogstation not the PS3. I know that there was a transfer setting in the PS3 on the bottom right corner, but I assumed that that would do the same thing that the Mogstation process would do except it's more handy since it's right on the main page for XIV. I touched that once by accident. All my data is already on the PS4 now, but is it still possible to start it up with the XIV disc and transfer that stuff over quickly or am I too far gone?
See, that's the thing, your confusing yourself. Your data is NOT on the PS4, you haven't copied it yet. The actual character is never on the client, ie not on your PS3 or PS4. It's on the server, all you do on the mogstation is add/change to the PS4 code to allow you to log in there, and since you log in to the servers, your character is still there, it never moved anywhere. Things like macros and UI settings are saved on the CLIENT, ie your PS3, so you have to copy those over yourself, and that's why they put that option there.I upgraded my version via the Mogstation not the PS3. Basically you have to throw out whatever idea it is you have in your head about you already transferring your character, since you never really do that at all. It's on the servers, and doesn't have to move at all. This is one of the reasons I feel people should learn at least a little about how things work if they plan on using a given device. Be it a PC or game console.
