    Question for PS4 players...

....do you find it hard to use/have access to all of your abilities with the cross-bar and controller?

I find it a bit cumbersome to flip between them using R1. Do you guys have any tips or ideas to make it easier?

Do most people play this game on PC?

I went into the settings to only show bars #1 & #2 when my weapon is out. Sadly I'm at work so I can't tell you specifically where it actually is but it's been effective for me.

One tip I can give is activating the extra buttons when you hold down both L2+R2 at the same time.

Depending on whether you press L2 first, then R2 give you access to 8 more abilities. Or, if you press R2 first then L2 that's a whole different 8 abilities.

Although, I have L2+R2 and R2+L2 to show the same hotbar (cross hotbar 3). So in total, I have access to 24 skills rather than the traditional 16.

Some people on PC use a controller as well. I can use both but you do realise you can use mouse/keyboard on PS4 right.

    I do this too.
24 skills is more than enough to be able to play your class.
Plus I can swap some in and out depending on who I'm playing with.
Like, I won't need stoneskin as a SCH if I'm playing with a WHM kinda thing.

Several people have already offered several setups to use.

For me, using R1 to rotate between all my crossbars is very inefficient. Instead I use R1 + (other button) to go directly to the crossbar that I want.

There are lots of tricks to make the cross hotbar infinitely times more efficient. Having only two bars accessed with R1 when your drawn is, in my opinion, the weakest of the upgrades to the bar situation simply because R1 responsiveness is pretty slow on the ps4 for some reason. The R2+L2 combination bar made life a lot better when it came out. I think my favorite quality of life trick I found is a lot more involved. You need to use

/crosshotbar copy [class/job] [bar number] [class/job] [bar number]

    without the brackets. For example

    /crosshotbar copy drg 1 lnc 1

That will copy the first bar from drg to the first bar of lnc. Now with some work, you can save two different bars from dragoon on to two different bars from a crafting class and then make a macro to switch those bars back and forth. It is faster than hitting R1 as a cycle method because you don't have to release R2/L2 to get access and you still have the ability to use the R2+L2 combination for other things (I use them for defensive moves on my dragoon.)

Used to be somewhat of a PC player don't find the controller to problematic. I guess coming from Monster Hunter I hold the controller in a weird way anyway lol. Generally like with Monk if I'm in the middle of a 'combo' While the skills are 'resetting' I hit R1 and usually hit most of the abilities then flip back. The way I have it set is pretty much all my attacks are on set 1 with enhancements on set 2.
