    I'll add my post now

Well my Main is a PLD and I do agree that Stone skin is the best Cross skill for PLD. As I find it handy to cast for many reasons.

    1. helps Healers preserve their MP.
    2. Reduce the amount of damage I take thus less healing the healers need to do so more MP saved!
    3. Good to cast on MT if your OT espcialyl in T5 when you see DS comming up. might even save that Tanks life.

Bloodbath, what I do with that is combine it in a macro with Fight or Flight to boost the effectivness of Bloodbath and they do have the same CD.

Fracture is good when you can't currently hit the enemy but it dose do very little damage.

The only thing better then Stone Skin is foresight, it just the same as Ramparts but with a longer CD.

Foresight is not even remotely close to Rampart and is in no way better than Stone Skin.

Rampart is a flat 20% damage reduction. Foresight is a 20% defense increase.

To explain why exactly Foresight is so bad, 20% defense is basically a 7-10% reduction in physical damage taken, which means it does absolutely jack and squat for magic. Rampart is a 20% reduction in *all* damage taken. Rampart applies to all damage and is about 2-3 times more effective.

I would say closer to 5%. But it's better then nothing. Feeling sadder as a warrior, but as for PLD, it's good to have. Most of 2.2 content are physical which is a far cry from 2.1 magic frenzy. So foresight is pretty useful again.

The natural variation in damage is +/-5%. Foresight is big enough that the lowest damage you'll take while it's up is higher than the highest damage you'd take while it's down. As such, it's a fair deal bigger than 5%.

Depends on the situation at hand. Stone skin is not good when a Big attack is coming up and you need a def boost now rather then waiting for a 2 sec Stone Skin cast.

I end up using Foresight for things like tanking a single dread in T4. It would be fairly useless when I've got both dreads on me (I tend to save my best cd's for that obviously because of the massive amounts of damage they deal out), but it's a decent enough reduction when I'm only dealing with one.

Precasting. A good pld can time stoneskin to the point where the big hit will not interrupt the cast. The only problem is when there are multiple monsters to interrupt you.

Stoneskin is always useful when the PT is stressed to the point of breaking. Often you are over gear or fighting for threat so stoneskin is not really an option, but for anything that becomes a roadblock, stoneskin is near invaluable.

All the coils except perhaps t8 has it's fair share of "good to stoneskin" timing. And levi is also good since pld is OT 99.9% of the time and that means stacking on the healers for any extra heals they tap you.

It's another tool, but darn important tool, especially since you can stoneskin in MT or OT situations. Thus there are many situations when you need to help another tank out(t7 adds hit like a truck, stoneskin buddies can brute force through that phase nicely).

Finally, since pld have long CDs on defensive skills, stoneskin helps rotating those CDs so you don't run dry at a bad time.

Also stoneskin with shield blocking is good since the the reduce damage is enough to prevent most inturrupts.
