    Any word on the addon API/UI skinning support recently?

    Have we heard anything about the status of the addon API lately? I believe I remember they did a FATE event prior to E3 where they mentioned that a system for at least skinning the UI was mostly finalized and that they were looking for a good time to release it, probably after they were done focusing on the PS4 version launch, but I don't think we've heard anything since then. I've kinda given up hope on seeing a full-blown API at this point, but even a more limited skinning system where you could just modify the way information is displayed would be neat.

    If we could get some information on the status of this feature from a CM that would be amazing!

    Didn't remember even hearing anything about addons at all recently, so not expecting it soon personally. Only thing I can remember them talking about has been DX11/12 support.

    Well as long as they don't go silly like WoW did which left it way too open to a point that they had to balance content around having certain add-ons. That's the point where add-ons became ridiculous.

    Keeping it to things like one page bags, UI layouts and similar would be just right.

    Addons which are nice to have, but not required basically.

    I don't disagree. I don't really want to see DBM-style stuff that trivializes fight mechanics and situational awareness (to the point where they have to start designing around the addons, like you said), but I would love is a way to take information already provided in the current UI change the way it's presented. For example, one idea I had was to move the buff/debuff timers displayed under your target's health bars to their nameplate. This would be super helpful for me since I've got a big montior and it can be a bit tough to set up the UI such that all the information I need in a fight is easily accessible, without either making my eyes travel a lot or making the UI look super cluttered and ugly.

    A system flexible enough to do stuff like this, or to recreate the list-style inventory from 1.0, would be ideal. It doesn't need (and shouldn't have) the ability to cast spells for you, or to read the combat log, or to display warnings or play sounds in response to things like a monster beginning to cast something.
