Open World Commendations?

I focus most (95%) of my game time in the open world. I am a virgin mmo player on a PS4. Dungeons, Guild heists are more of an exercise in tolerance to the all mighty "Internet Tough Guy" syndrome (IMO) than anything else.

Yet when traversing the open world, talk about bi-polar... HELP!!! need rez at 22x,18y! all sorts of people come running. I see random acts of kindness all the time! EVERY DAY I PLAY.

So it begs the question: How come we don't have an open world commendation system?

Seems like an interesting idea, though I would give it a cooldown timer to avoid abusing it.

commendations were invented to try and calm the mouthbreathers in the DF.

Honestly ive never had an issue on the DF EXCEPT for CT.

Since it might be hard to implement, they kinda included some achievements, like the "kindness of strangers" for resurrecting random people around Eorzea. It would be easier if these people can be in your party while doing open world content, because tracking all the participants during an event or whatever is happening at that moment in the whole map, would stress the servers imo.

Well you do get an achievement for raising 20 random people not in your party which is a nice thing (and usually why you see people trying to run to your corpse) but a commendation system like that would get abused to the point where the kind act would be seen as nothing more than wanting the reward.

I'm just glad most people in the game are nice enough to explain things and are happy to help if asked properly.

All valid points. It would be a nice treat to be surprised with receiving seals rewarded by your GC after someone hit you with a commendation. It's not just rez but any act you observe. Maybe limit amount given each week? Make the reward small to avoid "farming". It's the "idea" of being able to thank open world players that has me thinking...

its not a terrible Idea, but unfortunately with the "gimme gimme nownownownow" this community has become it would be abused (see: win trading and turn 3 farming)
