You can split the difference, but remember that while the player has access to all classes, the purpose of the job system was to allow players to "specialize" in certain jobs. That means you have to gimp the ones you aren't specialized in. It doesn't seem like a good system now since we only have 9 jobs, but in the future when we have 15-20+ jobs with 3-4 of them branching off a single class, specialization will play a key role in this game. Plus you also have to account for level cap raises. 30 points isn't huge now, but at some point in the future we will have 50, 60, 70+ stat points to allocate, and then the decisions become much more meaningful.
