Player Status Innovation Affecting Chat Logs. (RMT Mitigation).

I've been thinking about this for quite some time. I know some individuals cannot bear to keep their status "online" due to RMT's constantly burdening each subscriber with messages.

SE you had given us a cap of 200 to blacklist and also have innovated new approaches to mitigate this issue. Yet none it has proven to be viable. I'm not hear to bash anyone on any account but to give a simple remedy to solve this issue rather than increasing the Blacklist Cap. Increasing the The BL cap is just pure inconvenience to everyone, some enjoy BL'ing people some don't aside. let me give you a remedy that can solve this issue and completely negate RMT Personal Spammers.

    We currently have:

    Online
    "AFK" (updated recently).
    "Looking for Party"
    & everyone most treasured "Busy."

Remedy: SE, implement a "Friend Status"

Friend Status: would justify this purpose- Friends, FC Affiliates & Linkshell Affiliates would be only allowed to message while this affect is active.

Lastly, due to other avenues of people that may whisper you or who are trying to get in contact with you a simple (invitation) On your screen just like a party invite if you wish to ignore, accept, or temporarily postpone communication with that individual.

To me this would prove to be very viable to mitigate RMT's from pm'ing active subscribers and mitigating strife that most have to deal with. Moreover, You have this system set up for your Mailing Program; implement a status to where users have the ability to socially decline those they choose not converse with.

If it's a bad idea; urge you to utilize some fraction of innovation to solve this issue. In all honesty, there are some intelligent individuals who play XIV:ARR and ask for your thoughts.

I really do miss the random tells from other players saying stuff like
    " nice clothes / gear"
" where did you get that?"
    "Wanna help me?"
    Etc.
But even i had enough of deleting ppl on my full b-list and recieving rmt tells. So i decided to join the " use busy to mitigate rmt tells" bandwagon. It really did make a difference but it kinda worries me that 6/10 players i run into have their status set to busy ( mostly crafters and gatherers ).
But the friend status really would make a better alternative imo so yes please SE, make it so!

I think this would be more annoying than RMT because the RMT will start spamming that if they can't get to you in other ways.

I think it's a great idea. A way that only people in your friends list or FC can send you tells, instead of having to deal with this by limiting even further our game experience using Busy. After all, we shouldn't be having to do all those things. Another good idea is to limit some ways rmt get their gil, like shards and crystals. There are "people" in the mb selling 10000 shards of the same element. There are so many limitations within the game for many things, that limiting the amount of shards you can get, or sell, or both at the same time could help make rmt harder to get gil.
That filtering of tells should help immensely. Even someone that you eventually meet almost always use "say", so I see no reason why limiting tells to friends, FC and Linkshell couldn't be implemented. Great idea!!

First I'd like to see a way to remove multiple names from the blacklist, and, hopefully coming with 2.3, a one click report/blacklist option on names.

Like I said before, easy way to solve this problem is to add a built in chat filter either the player can customize or done for you.

auto-ignore whispers from players that use commonly referred to terms in gold spam. " gil , delivered , www , com "

bam, thousands of pissed off RMTs

I don't know if I'm just crazy and read something that wasn't there, but I'm almost POSITIVE that in the patch notes for 2.28 they had said something about adding a feature that, if you blacklist someone, their messages are removed from your chat log. Anyone know what happened to that?

Hopefully right out the window because if that's their idea of a solution then it belongs right in the garbage. They need to listen to the OP. This would be a tremendous impact on stopping them and limiting them to /shout only in the starting cities as most of them don't level.
