I do this 100 times a day (brayflox novus grind). On the 2nd pull of speedruns before the boss i gather up all 3 mobs pop HG then Cover it works brilliantly and i know all the healers that ive ran with appreciated it as it allows them 10 seconds to DPS with Holy spam

Because fireball is a very minor move very early in a fight with a couple of very major points it could be needed when you're getting used to the fight.

However, in 8-man it get can get really hard to target the right person, especially in the heat of the moment. I used cover a lot when bee's would spawn in AK because they usually went right for healer. OMG remember when tome dungeons were somewhat difficult.....I just made myself so sad.
Cover is SUPER useful in Halitali HM.

Why? Cos frequently, there will be someone who doesn't come to the mammet to get the Manawall buff in time so you can use Cover to eat the 1000 ton swing on that guy's behalf LOL.

    You cannot cover Twin's fireballs.

The aetheric something attack (the balls you have to run into) in Ultima bypasses HG.

He doesn't mind us conducting trials so close to his bazaar, so long as he's properly compensated... Yes, Portus, we pay him in sorcery-blasted bird flesh. - Cocobygo

Ah, thank you. I thought it was unlikely but thanks for confirming

And @Alistaire, I wouldn't use it as a legit strategy, but watching my FC guys wipe constantly at the start of the fireballs/conflags made me think it might just help enough so they can see more of the fight.

To say you the truth I think that cover is one of the most rare skills to use. About hallowed ground you should save it for yourself because sometimes the healer needs to heal the rest of the party or needs to raise someone and in those moments you can save yourself while waiting for an heal

I sometimes use cover but it's not that common.
I like it very much for T6 though, covering the person that has the bee is quite awesome.
