Clicking the item icon in the Materials list should bring you to the item

I posted this once in the crafting forum but I think I put it in the wrong place so I'm going to copy it over here:

Sometimes when I'm crafting, there are craft's that require craft-able materials. However, it's tedious to look through the list for these items. Sometimes they are at a lower level that I don't remember (like the Woolen Cloth, what level bracket do I search in?) and sometimes they are from an entirely different craft. The new drop down list on the top helps a bit but it could be way easier.

I think that first, clicking on the material icon should bring you to the craft (circled in red, pic 1) if it is craftable (pic 2). There also need to be a back button to easily return to the original craft (pic 2).

Finally, a text search for items would help immensely (pic 3). I guess make it work like how the market boards work for item search, or have it update per character typed like in xivdb.

What should it do if there are multiple recipes for that item (such as iron ingot)?

It can just default to either class, or whichever one you used to craft it last, or whichever is higher level. Any one of those is fine.

That would be nice too. I mean I use XIVDB for a lot of my crafting and to find which npc sells what. If all that information is easy to find online, might as well make it accessible in game.

    These suggestions would help immensely.

In addition, I'd like if the new category dropdown would remain on its selected category while we scroll through various level ranges. So, for instance, if we're looking for Woolen Yarn, we could set the category to cloth and just scroll up/down the left-hand column's level ranges list, seeing only the few cloth items for each level range. Currently, it keeps resetting back to "All" every time we switch levels, so to see the cloth items, it's a cumbersome pattern of selecting one level range, moving to the center column so we can select the Cloth category, then if it's not there moving to the left column to select another level range then back to the center column to restore the Cloth category setting we were looking for, and so on through each level range until we find our item.

(To enable that change, the category drop-down would probably need to be updated to show all item types made by that crafting class, rather than just the categories that exist at the given range (as it has now). So for some categories, you might occasionally see an empty list with just a "no items of the selected category" message.)
