What are Your Conditions to Commend?

I just pick one at random, since I was so busy positioning, DPSing, and following mechanics that I'm totally unaware of what anyone else did during the run.

1. Someone actually writing out mechanics for newbies and taking the time to explain everything.
2. The DPS did really well.
3. The healer was absolutely clutch and saved the raid and deserves to be comm'd because I sure as hell don't think the other players will do it.
4. The DPS was the only one who didn't annoy me or I think I saw them doing their rotation well.
5. The tank came in clutch.

That should be something the Tank should do to begin with, say, "wait a moment..." then briefly explain the fight mechanics for each boss. -No one- ok, "there are a few," would charge in without the tank, so this would be a good chance to set things up for people. Because if you just ask if they know the fight, they will more then likely say "yes" to avoid being on the spot, and scoffed at.

No one likes to run around uncoordinated and not knowing what to do. Myself before I start any dungeon I plan to watch a video on it so I learn the mechanics first. Up until now I just followed the tank around until I had to heal him or kill things. ^^;

The tank that actually used CDs on a mass pull instead of Maaaaaaaaaaaaaass pull Dying Healer casting is too long almost oops dead Just use the cooldown for the love of god you pulled everything up to the second boss Gah you're losing aggro cause I'm having to spam heal you and you arent doing things to tick em off. Well this is gonna be pretty I somehow think I'm going to get yelled at for this wipe..... Okay everyone's back at the beginning now I just need to pop lucid... gah they're doing it again and I have even less mp than last time!

Yeah I dont mind big pulls when they're actually properly managed you made things waay less stressful for me. Here's your comm.

The DPS that tries really hard to avoid the telegraphed damage.

The healer that patiently did thier thing and didnt yell at anyone even though DPS was dying alot.

The person that will explain the mechanics of something when they see that bonus for new player thing pop up instead of WOOOOO *FACEPULL*

I just give to people who do very high DPS. Bonus points if they do good DPS on supports.

If you're checking for high dps, are you just looking at the word text pop up at the time from the fight? Or using a third party program to account the dps? Or where they are on the hit list from 1-8 (in terms of enmity level)?

I would never use a parser; that's against the ToS. I just look at the battle log and add it up there :P

I'm gonna throw some things out here (that while they should be pretty much common to their job, I don't see them often enough, which automatically gets my votes in a heartbeat). To better understand, these are the jobs I play (a lot).

1) DRK PLD WAR - Shirk -> If my MT or OT is in a tight spot dying (with CD's active or healers running out of mp from raises throughout the fight), and I provoke and they use shirk on me? BAM! Auto commendation. Cause not many players know this skill exists when tight spot issues come up in instances. And it helps me help them or others in the fight. I can't count the number of times I've seen bad places where the tank could've used shirk after I voke off them (but they still continue staying in tank stance while I'm in DPS stance the whole time).

2) SAM DRG NIN MNK - Goad -> If you goad ANY one player, either coming back from raise or running halfway into TP, that's automatic for me. You're part of the player base I can love and enjoy because you know what your tool kit has to offer. Also, I absolutely love you, cause I almost never see any competent toolkit users playing DPS outside of my FC and endgame linkshell (cross server).

3) RDM's or SMN's - Raise -> Anyone who helps prioritize raising people instead of dps (on an instance that doesn't really have any mechanics like 13min timer before auto wipes. Sure it extends the run a few min more, but getting the whole party back up and square one helps me as a tank the most since I'm keeping myself alive the whole time with CD's, and such)

4) RDM SMN BLM - Manashift - YOU GET A COM! AND YOU GET A COM! AND YOU GET A COM! EVERYONE GETS A COM! This is also something I don't see. As a BLM and a RDM doing anything, as I multitask quite often, checking party to see how we're doing on fights (24 man raids have this issue the most) where we have tons of mages in the party, and yet no one is using manashift except me. Healers having to ask for manashift. Big oof from me dawg.

5) BRD MCH (inb4DNC has same issues) - Refresh/Tactician - If I ever see this, that player is getting my commendation. My biggest pet peeve is doing anything (or not unless it's eureka which doesnt do much with people dying left and right) and a useless bard or mch who has no idea about their current skills to help support the party they're in.

If any one of these are done, that's an auto com from me. Cause I believe pigs will fly before I see players bothering to help support their party further in this game (until shadowbringers). I've seen just about everything, but I've seen an Elephant fly.

If everything is fine:
- To healer if I tank
- To tank if I heal
- To DPS if I DPS

If everyone do that everybody would get some!

If the one I would usually commend was very bad or rude I jump to the next one.

If someone is excellent in skills or nice they might get my commendation.

If everything else fails.. well you know it already :P

Well its simply

1: Don't be a dick. being a dick cancels out everything else.

2: If i'm tanking and I never have to use living dead, healer gets it

3: If i'm healing and i never have to resort to going into oh fuck mode, tank gets it.

4: If i'm dps, depends who did their job better.

5: goes for all roles, if you don't know how to play your class, don't get snippy when someone gives you advice. example being i had a warrior not long ago that wouldn't listen when i said he should be using his aoe move to stop everyone else from getting attacked.
