When playing a Healer I would vote for the Tank, unless he kept allowing me to be mobbed, or worse yet have a bad personality. If that happened I would choose the DPS who used the most energy...not mine, his own. When playing a DPS I would always vote for in this order; Healer if they did good, Tank if they did good...but everyone is always in such a hurry often times who ever hasn't left yet. lol But now that I'm learning to tank, I vote for healer as a professional courtesy....if they are still there, then I vote for who is left.

....why is everyone in such a hurry??

After we finish my toon spins around like that Miqo'te did after Hildibrant's father ran after him, when they hurry for the exit, as if they had seconds to live. lol "I don't bite...but I can't speak for that creepy Dark Knight over there." O.O

Hmm it's usually the reverse, Ill hand out a comm usually to Tank>Healer>DPS unless something alters that such as:

    DPS did exceptionally well.
    Tank did exceptionally poorly.
    Healer Did exceptionally poorly.
Party member was toxic in some capacity.

    That's about it.

    I mostly commend at random.

I only really target someone for commendations if they did something to really earn it.

Let's say I'm on a trial or raid fight and one healer keeps dying and the other healer is solo healing most of the fight, I may commend them.

If there's a newbie and someone is very helpful to the newbie, I may commend them.

If we have a near party wipe but someone saves the run, like a sole healer surviving to lb3, or someone soloing the last few % of a boss etc, I'll commend them. Consider this 'success during a crisis commend' category. If things get hairy but someone pulls us through, they get a commend.

Most runs of things I do however, I just commend someone randomly because nobody really stands out in most runs when things are going smoothly.

I consider a few different things but it all weighs differently depending on how the run went.

Like if I could feel someone's contribution made the dungeon smoother I'll commend them.

But if it's just a guildheist and things were smooth anyway I'm just gonna vote for the hottest elezen in the group.

Or if someone was just really nice/helpful maybe they'll pull ahead in a raid.

Sometimes I'll toss it to a newbie who asked for an explanation before the fight.

I will vote someone for having a good lore-appropriate character name before I vote someone for simply queuing as tank/heal though.

My general priority for Commendations is:

Someone who's new to the duty, but actually seems like they're trying - This can be from something like stating that they're new at the beginning of the duty so people know to not expect super-mega-gosu-rush-savage-geared-BiS-strats, asking about mechanics for bosses, making an attempt to try and react to boss mechanics (Such as learning to not stand in crap. Or some more nuanced mechanics like the level 69 dungeon 2nd boss where you have to get a certain element buff or you kill yourself by attacking boss)

Someone who plays cleanly - This isn't necessarily fast or optimal but doing the best out of the situation that was the duty. For example, a tank that might not mass pull, but constantly keeps enmity and keeps the enemies positioned well (I.e. Not circle strafing around the enemy 24/7 >.>). A healer that might not be pushing out the most DPS because they're busy spam healing the tank that pulled more than they could comfortably handle. The DPS that might not be doing the best damage, but will be managing their enmity so the tank doesn't have to work so hard, will be doing things like using AoE against 3+ targets, will actually use Limit Breaks ever.

Then someone who is friendly. Saying hello and goodbye. Maybe having a bit of banter on the way through. Aiding with mentioning tactics and the like.

Then whomever is left at the end of a duty if that person didn't play horribly.

Do more damage than the tank.

It's pretty simple. Do something to make me smile, and you will very likely get my comm. Of course, it also requires sticking around long enough after the duty. Far too many times the player I want to give my comm to bails before I get a chance to give it.

I also have a tendency to give pity comms. Sometimes I feel so bad for a player that's really trying but just can't stay on their feet. I know what that's like, and have been there.

I may also give them if I like your glamours, or if the player is new to the instance.

I just pick one at random, since I was so busy positioning, DPSing, and following mechanics that I'm totally unaware of what anyone else did during the run.

    1. Someone actually writing out mechanics for newbies and taking the time to explain everything.
    2. The DPS did really well.
    3. The healer was absolutely clutch and saved the raid and deserves to be comm'd because I sure as hell don't think the other players will do it.
    4. The DPS was the only one who didn't annoy me or I think I saw them doing their rotation well.
    5. The tank came in clutch.

The tank that actually used CDs on a mass pull instead of Maaaaaaaaaaaaaass pull Dying Healer casting is too long almost oops dead Just use the cooldown for the love of god you pulled everything up to the second boss Gah you're losing aggro cause I'm having to spam heal you and you arent doing things to tick em off. Well this is gonna be pretty I somehow think I'm going to get yelled at for this wipe..... Okay everyone's back at the beginning now I just need to pop lucid... gah they're doing it again and I have even less mp than last time!

Yeah I dont mind big pulls when they're actually properly managed you made things waay less stressful for me. Here's your comm.

The DPS that tries really hard to avoid the telegraphed damage.

The healer that patiently did thier thing and didnt yell at anyone even though DPS was dying alot.

The person that will explain the mechanics of something when they see that bonus for new player thing pop up instead of WOOOOO *FACEPULL*
