Ifrit and riot blade

Hi i'm new here and want to ask, is it wrong to use riot blade when fighting ifrit? 'cuz someone in my party keep telling me that i do the wrong thing. Oh and if someone playing on atomos pls add me 'kay

Short answer is yes. riot blade has its place but it should not be your go to move.

When in parties you should be chaining to savage blade as tank because it generates hate greater then the time it takes to gain mp to flash. Riot blade is more for mp maintenance and keeping your hate down when off tanking and hitting the primary target in 8 man content. It also helps mitigate some of the mp you use up casting stoneskin on the main tank to help mitigate damage in 8 man content.

I believe Riot blade for GLD/PLD is only there to gain mp, not a main rotation? Judging by your character icon, I am assuming you are talking about Ifrit Story mode. In that sense if your tanking you want to generate hate. The Fast Blade > Savage Blade combo is what you want to use to generate and keep aggro.

If you're ever wondering why Ifrit or any other mob is not attacking you after a minute. that is probably cause your not generating aggro but DPSing via Riot Blade.
