Okay. So I'm a Dragoon, and I was a Monk before that. My friend is a Black Mage. I notice that whenever I'm doing FATEs, they usually cruise by with a Gold for things like Odin or Behemoth. Yet I'm always a Bronze or Silver. When I watch what they do, it seems like they have a lot easier of a time to get rewarded the way that they do. All she has to do is spam magic from a safe distance.

I tell you, DRGs and MNKs have it rough. I know, I know, I'm biased. But come on! We're in melee range and are subject to most of the AOEs, and we have to keep dancing from the back to sides of the enemies to maximize or even do moderate DPS. Whenever I do Odin? I have to turn off battle effects for all players. Otherwise the zerg and particle effects obscures Odin and I can't see which direction he's facing.

I just finished Behemoth and got a bloody bronze, while the BLM in our group got the gold. I know I'm liable to "git gud" and other remarks, but I just had to know if anybody else ever gets the feeling like we're gimped? Do FATEs need to be reworked or something with how they rank player performance?

It's much easier on BLM, but you still need to be in a group and dealing a ton of damage for the entire fight to have any hope of getting gold. Anytime I get to him and he's already down to 80% or so I end up with silver.

easy way to get gold : get claim (the hard part) right before someone else, let them tank, and once they have a good lead in hate, begin the rampage.

Having claim is very valuable. Just make sure that you don't die

Thanks. I know I was being whiny, I was kinda bummed out about it all. I'll keep trying and try not to push any BLMs into AOEs. I appreciate you guys being so understanding.
