This right here! I don't know why people keep saying tanks should be doing 100-130...that's ridiculous and way too low. As a tank if your not pulling at least 150-180 you're doing something wrong.

Most groups would rather their tank focus on tanking and staying alive than to be distracting themself when dps. Its the dps' job to do damage, and they are more than capable of doing so.

our tank never loses aggro, grabs mines on his side, grabs tower on his side and tanks dreadnaughts too, all while being able to dish out 200ish dps. I don't know why you would try to gimp yourself by having your tank "focus" on tanking. All I'm saying is, why hold your tanks back and "focus" on tanking when they are able to help out in doing some dps in a dps race.

Show me plz how you deal 180dps as a pld with ~ilvl 95-100 maybe (when you arrive @ t8, which is the objective ob this thread)
I am maintank PLD in our raid and i'm spamming my normal 3hit rota, circle of scorns, silence and dmg buff always on cd and i'm only out of tp for ~ 10sec and i make around 135-145dps (if the numbers are correct). Even if i would use 2xstrengh potion + poision potions there is no way to reach 160-180 (mabye with ilvl 110 or 115 weapons, which normaly isn't there when you arrive @ t8).

In my opinion the biggest problem here is, that every1 counts the dps different with their tools, because there is no official ingame tool to count dps. I'm not even sure, if my numbers are correct, because i was only told that it is like that.
So maybe stop beeing too optimistic and calculate a toleranz error of ~20dps in different parser settings and ofc stick to the given setting (new in t8)

Our SMN is doing 320dps + 80 with pet
DRG was 360
Me (BLM) and BRD 340

On a side note our DRG use a DPS meater that seems to be off and give numbers around 60-80 lower then others. We are just ignoring his numbers. Maybe you are using the same program? 220 on BRD is really too low

The reason bards do low damage in this fight is because they spend half of it in ballad mode. It's a very healer intensive fight. You need 1700 group damage to hit the fight comfortable. Your dpses must all be doing 300+.

P.S. Our bards each rotate using ballad for me and still manage to hit a bit above 300. They both have an unweathered rosenbogan though and are geared well enough..so.. I wouldn't hold that up to your standards, But our monk alone does like 430. X_X All our doses have unweathered weapon so they hit well above the 350 mark… but minimum for each person should be 300 even with weathered weaps otherwise you'll struggle.

As a solo bard in this fight Im pulling 300 dps with a wave bow ( I literally just started doing coil 2 weeks ago) and an ilvl avg of 97. I have a drg and mnk to supply TP throughout the fight and usually play paeon 5 times, a full foes bar at the start and ballad once (right before allagan field starts)

The main thing as a bard imo is getting song rotations for the fight down.

With a pretty low skill speed (403) by the time my invigorate is at its 2min mark for CD, im hitting paeon (and that's usually right before the first brainjack)

Next week though ill have a fully upgraded rosenbagen (spelling) and I suspect my dps to go up to about 340ish with the same song rotation. maybe more..

It's no where near that amount. I hear closer to 20k from most sources. Sometimes lower.

It does 250dam/pot*8ppl=2000. the pots got like 2min cd, so you can maybe use 5 of them during the fight (since there's enrage at 11min anyway) 2k dam*5=10k.
That's 6sec DPS, if you got 5 DD, with 350DPS. Maybe 4sec since DPS should be closer to 400, and tank is also doing damage.
