Unless SE stops backing down and nerfing any challenging content like AK and pharus sirus due to people crying for nerfs or just bailing when it pops up. There wont be any extreme dungeons. If they add exterme 4 peep dungeons with higher ilvl rewards, the entitled players unable to complete the content will go on a tirade on the forums demanding it be nerfed so they can face roll through it like the other dungeons.
So certain players have to accept that some things are beyond their ability to complete and thus the rewards, be it drops or optional story to the MSQ are also out of their reach unless they make the effort to improve to be able to attain that goal.
Until that time, harder content just means more complaints on the forums about the difficulty.
Not gonna happen, everytime they release a difficult expert dungeon they received complaints.
that's why the latest 3 expert dungeons are a big cake walk.

If they added "Extreme Dungeons" they'd need to make them their own queue so people who queue know what they're getting into.
Fair points. Problem would be moot if SE would just stop trying to shove all the content on everyone. Well not all, but most of the content.
Make more things to do that are not tied to the main quest and have it be completely optional and a lot of the 'nerf it nao' crowd wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Of course SE would have to say out of the gate that the challenging new is not meant for everyone and stick to their guns like you say.
There is heaps not tied to the Main Scenario. The raids, 2/3rds of the patch dungeons, all the Extreme trial and more (though stuff like Hildibrand, Beast tribe dailies and Post Moggle aren't difficult enough for anyone to think they would need a nerf).Fair points. Infact the issue that people have raised in this thread are about content that isn't 'manditory'. People can finish the Main Scenario without doing half the available content that is prone to nerfs.
4-man dungeons suck. I would rather seeing the 8-man dungeons and hard like how was the AV/CC/DH in 1.x.
* All dungeons - roulette
* All Ex trials - extensions of needed by main quest
* All Hildy stuff - roulette
Just saying, but those three are considered to be mandatory-ish by many. Especially anything that can wind up in a roulette, not saying Ex Trials are to be clear. Some are very religious about doing these things and any roulette they have unlocked every day they are on.
But that's besides my point that there should be more completely optional content added, didn't say there was a dearth of it. The more SE adds going forward, the better the chance that some of it will be of the challenging persuasion and the more chance that since it will be content folks have to actually make a bit of effort to find/use, SE will treat it accordingly(better reward/effort dynamic, again more challenging less faceroll, and be less likely to be nerfed immediately after release).
I mean all the SoF adjustment drama is a perfect example of what my suggestion would help head off. Wouldn't eliminate it completely, but would cut down on it a lot imo.
