I would love this. My fc is very small, less than 8 people. So that would be great for me and others with smaller free companies.
The reward could be some cute vanity drops, like a cute pink skirt! or maybe just an achievement and a title.
But then it'd need to be really hard and require a lot of teamwork.
Like combine titan ex and ramuh ex. and add som moogles too!

Difficulty was never the problem with pharos. It was the fact that it gave the exact same rewards for twice the time + increased difficulty.
Just bringing an ilevel sync into current dungeons with reward bonuses would achieve the extreme dungeon look. Sync everyone to 2 or 3 ilvls above minimum and make them run current dungeons. Little development time needed to achieve this.

8 men extreme dungeons for good unique rewards sounds cool. i'd do it for cool glamour even.
Sounds like fun, give trash mobs actual mechanics that you need to deal with, whether they be role specific or not, that make the party work together as a team. Make things hurt! Mobs that buff themselves are cute, but they've been around since Sastasha NM. Hard hitting conals and such, things that are absolutely not intended to be taken by DD's and healers. I'd like to see debuffs be more relevant, stacking poisons can usually be healed through even in mass pulls, and debuffs that you'd actually like to get rid of can't be dispelled. I'd love to get things such as glamour, minions, or cool titles for these, considering that they would likely be "optional" content.
Personally I wish there were extreme/savage versions with enhanced rewards for all of the easy content, dungeons/24-man raids specifically. I don't even bother doing dungeons anymore really because they literally take no effort to complete and nobody talks anyways so they aren't exactly social unless you're doing them with friends.
I also don't think it would hurt to have more alternative gear choices. It would allow people to more efficiently gear up multiple jobs, which is one of the main selling points in this game, and as long as it wasn't max ilvl drops people wouldn't run out of progression given that the latest tomes/8-man raid will have better drops + restrictions anyways.
I know a lot of people won't agree because it makes them feel obligated to do more than they have time for but personally I love options and that's my opinion.

casual game is casual.
Life becomes death becomes new life. As it should be.
Interesting thread
Its been said, but the issue here is more that SE lumped PS in with all the other dungeons when it should have been in another category.
Since revisiting content is a non-issue for SE, i think low-man content from FFXI like Assault, Salvage, etc should be seriously looked at. I prefer 4 man groups, but the concept should easily be extendable to 8 man. Hard, almost punishing difficulty with comparable rewards That isn't tied to any roulette and is totally optional.
Want the challenge? Want the gear? Que up in your own pre-made group and win. Can't make the party or get the win? Too bad.
Make Sleep useful after level 50.
Love the idea of more challenging 4 man content, but I'd like to see that be a feature of all the new dungeons, instead of a rehashed/remixed version of a rehashed/remixed HM dungeon we've been grinding on since the release of 2.0.
