Look at it this way: you join a GC of your choice. You actively interact with that GC throughout the game, and you're 'clearly' tied to them.

Your GC picks a FC that they're 'allied' with. The FC never interacts with that GC. They never help that GC, or contribute, or even so much as speak to.
